44 - 005Evidence of Edge-Sharing TiO5 Polyhedra in Ti-Substituted Pol-lucite, CsTixAl1−xSi2O6+x/2. — XANES, EXAFS, and Ramanspectroscopy indicate the formation of TiO5 edge-sharing polyhedra in the titlecompound at relatively low Ti concentrations (x ¿ 0.3). The results suggest anon-random pairing of TiO5 polyhedra on symmetrically equivalent sites andthe formation of edge-sharing relationship between adjacent TiO5 polyhedrawith a short Ti–Ti interatomic distance of ≈3.0 A. — (HESS, NANCY J.;SU, YALI; BALMER, M.
