Aims: Broaden children’s horizons,
guide them express themselves and
enhance their confidence
Working hours: From 9:00 to 17:00 With a total of 40 hours per week Saturday work Sometimes Accommodation: Mostly free homestay, but living in intern house would charge if no proper homestay can be found. Migrant Children
The rapid development of China leads to a series of problems. One of them is about the migrant children, whose parents have moved to a developed city to strive for a better living but are too busy to show care for their kids. They know very little about the outside world, and also sometimes find it hard to integrate themselves into the new living environment in Guangzhou
Job Description
1. Teaching: Teach 25children (aged 9~14)about English and your culture , also give them handicraft, cooking and dancing classes with 2 EPs(Totally12 EPs). You will have a home group , and 2 buddies to help you.
2. Global Village : You will take part in this activity to show your unique culture by performing, showing special items in your own booth. EPs from another 2 project will take part in it too.
3. Workshop: A conference to make people aware of the importance of helping the migrant children through your sharing with the delegates (Most are college students).
4. GCDS: Attend GCDS (Global Citizen Development Summit) for a better experience. Every EP Who comes to Mainland of China are required to attend. Delegate fee: 300-400 RMB
5.Organize activities: We encourage you to take the role of organizing some activities.
6.Review: Review and evaluate your experience by writing a journal everyday.
Basic Preparation
Prepare interesting and various presentations to the project, like dancing, drawing, videos, playing instruments and giving speech with power point or any other kinds of software for presentation and so on
Prepare special teaching materials to the project, like traditional clothes, special snacks, books, national flat and so on; bring some snacks or little stuffs from your country as gifts or reward for the outstanding children in the class.
Prepare at least a recipe of special dishes in your country and prepare the necessary ingredients that are not available in China

EP Feelings I am really excited, happy, and have so
much good feeling about this project until I didn’t know how to say. This project really enhanced my leadership and also made a really good connection between me and other Eps from other cultures and visions. This will be my unforgettable experience in my whole life. I can feel the positive impact and I never regret it to join in the project. I won’t forget my experience in here. My children, my friends, and even the cultures in Guangzhou will be in my heart forever.

Brief Introduction of Guangzhou
Guangzhou (also romanized as: Canton; less-commonly known as Kwangchow) is the capital and largest city of Guangdong province in South China. Located on the Pearl River, about 120 km (75 mi) north-northwest of Hong Kong and north-northeast of Macau, Guangzhou is a key national transportation hub and trading port. One of the five National Central Cities, it holds sub-provincial administrative status.
Climate Located just south of the Tropic of Cancer, Guangzhou has a humid subtropical climate (Köppen Cfa) influenced by the East Asian monsoon. Summers are wet with high temperatures, high humidity, and a high heat index. Winters are mild and comparatively dry. Guangzhou has a lengthy monsoon season, spanning from April through September. Monthly averages range from 13.6 °C (56.5 °F) in January to 28.6 °C (83.5 °F) in July, while the annual mean is 22.6 °C (72.7 °F), the relative humidity is approximately 68 percent, whereas annual rainfall in the metropolitan area is over 1,700 mm (67 in). With monthly percent possible sunshine ranging from 17 percent in March and April to 52 percent in November, the city receives 1,628 hours of bright sunshine annually, considerably less than nearby Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Extreme temperatures have ranged from 0 °C (32 °F) to 39.1 °C (102 °F).The last recorded snowfall in the city was in January 1893.
