The Retention Mission of the Commissioner Corps is best achieved by
providing an adequate number of trained unit commissioners who provide a link to
District Committee resources in support of a quality unit program.

Steps for a Unit Commissioner in Journey to Excellence5
1. National Updates and publishes this year’s standards2. Unit uses JTE standards for their annual Action Planning
and Program Planning – reminded and supported by UC 3. Unit reviews performance on JTE monthly/quarterly –
supported by UC4. UC makes regular contact, records in UVTS for UC benefit5. Unit annual JTE performance is assessed at rechartering –
supported by UC. Awarded Gold, Silver, Bronze6. Unit is presented JTE recognition – by UC7. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT is a key part of JTE
