Connected Car – Seattle
I am Prashun Javeri and I cant compete against the Hoff!
Connected cars are taking off !
Smartphones have become smarter
wireless newtorks have become ubiquitous
Advancements in big data and business Intelligenge have happened
Sensors have become cheaper
How Big is the Market ?
Benefits of Connected cars
They could reduce congestion
They could reduce human errorThey could lead to Smarter Cities
They could lead to a greener Environment
They could lead no stress travels
Benefits of Connected cars
OEMs DealersRental /service fleets

Challenges of connected cars
New Safety Laws will be required
Dealerships will need to be Tech savvy
How many apps are too much ?Carmakers need partners
A car is not a phone!
Connectivity
Hardware Embedded Sensors (OEM – vehicle health)
Hardware External Sensors (OEM – collision avoidance and car safety)
Hardware Embedded Sensors (Third Party – ODB)

Types of Applications
Jibreel Jibreel is an Open Source graph based programming framework built from the ground up to integrate connected car products with other connected “Things”
Jibreel provides unique capabilities in its ability to store properties as part of nodes or relationships, allowing for a flexible and extensible data model.
Besides this it also provides a novel approach to building applications by integrating data streaming and decision engine onto the graph thus linking computation and data storage.
Since both data storage and computation are done as part of the same graph where nodes performing these functions are co-located this makes the system highly performant and real time .
Instead of Neo4j where in order to get scalability you are forced to scale up Jibreel provides the ability to scale out instead thus providing the ability to run large scale graphs on a distributed infrastructure using commodity servers.
How Does Jibreel do that ? Jibreel helps you do that by providing apis the help you create and link nodes that gather, process, analyze and act on data generated by connected devices
Jibreel divides the physical graph into 6 types on nodes
Device Node
Configuration Node
Collector Node
Controller
Compute Node
Commute
Coordinator Nodes
