NME: The contents page mirrors the house style by using a white
background and black writing, masthead uses a sans serif font to
emphasise its informal look which is also done on the front cover,
both pages are laid out with many cover lines and the contents
page also has lots of pictures this emphasises how busy the
magazine is and highlights the number of genres within the
magazine. The title of each cover line is bold to gain attention also
the middle image is slightly larger than the rest to indicate its one
of the main stories within the magazine. There are page numbers
to help navigate the way through the magazine and also pictures
which correspond to the correct articles. It also brings you back to
buy the magazine by highlighting that subscriptions are available
for the magazine.

Mixmag: This also mirrors the house style of the front cover by
using the same fonts throughout which is sans serif this is an
informal font which represents the magazine it also uses the same
colours for the background and writing, however it contrast the
front cover by having a main star and another image these both
correspond to the articles there next too, there is also page
numbers for each article to help navigate through the magazine.
The contents page is also a lot busier than the front cover, this
highlights they want the front to be simple and striking yet the
magazine inside to be packed with stories/articles and cover lines.
It makes us interested in buying the magazine again as it offers a
free CD to every reader this is an incentive and a catchy one as all
customers will enjoy a free gift.
Conclusion: Both contents pages follow similar guidelines they contain many cover lines to attract more customers, the
house style for both magazines is kept and used thoroughly by the front cover and contents page, the same fonts are
used frequently. They also use numbers to help navigate pages, they have pictures corresponding to articles andand
