Notes from the Council
The Council was not able to meet in February because of a snowstorm. They have now elected their officers for this year: Catherine Tibbett President
Will Karr Vice President
Vicki Luoma Secretary
Wayne Olsen Treasurer We take our responsibilities very seriously and will do our best to guide the congregation in this trying time. It is difficult for all of us not having a full time pastor, but Pastor Melinda has stepped up as our Administrative Interim Pastor. She is guiding us through the conflicting rules and information concerning COVID-19 as all of us try to remain safe and healthy. The church now has a calling tree. Every member should be receiving a phone call once a week from a member of the committee. They will be sharing information and offering prayers. You will also receive email or mail with information from the church and a copy of Pastor Melinda's sermon. As president of Faith Lutheran's Church Council I want to assure you that church is more than a building. Church is all of us together in Christ caring for each other and for our neighbors. Pray, read the Bible, meditate on the scriptures, and find ways in your life that you can be an example of Christian life to others.
g Catherine Tibbett
From Pastor Melinda Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ, I want to offer a brief greeting to you! You undoubtedly have received a lot of correspondence from myself and the Church over the past couple of weeks. Rather than repeating everything that was already sent to you, I offer this: a) Pastor Rita Chirala was Ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America on Saturday, March 21st, at 11:00am CST-12:00pm our time . She was ordained at Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. We rejoice with Pastor Rita and we await her arrival with anticipation. b) Sharing words from a Facebook post: In the rush to return to normal, use this time to consider which parts of normal are worth rushing back to. (written by Dave Hollis) As we prepare to celebrate Easter apart from one another, let us rejoice that, no matter what, Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed! Peace to you and your family ╬ Pastor Melinda
