Public Speaking Competition: Congratulations to Montana and Jayde who did an
outstanding job at the Public Speaking Competition
last Wednesday. Both girls did a magnificent job
and should be extremely proud of their efforts and
achievements.
On the night Montana received a certificate and
trophy for achieving Third Place which was just an
outstanding achievement. Montana’s speech on
Down Syndrome was fantastic and full of emotion
and love for her brother. Jayde’s speech called for
a ban on “Testing Products on Animals” which was
well researched and presented in a very convincing
manner. Thank you to all the staff, family and
friends who came along and supported the girls in
their endeavours.
A special thank you to the Rotary Club for providing
this opportunity for our students to participate in,
very much appreciated.
Please remember HATS!!! Just a quick reminder to parents, friends and
children that at the start of Term 4 all students
and staff are expected to wear a hat at school
during recess, lunchtime, sport and when involved in
outdoor activities. There are various hats that are
approved by School Council to wear including bucket
hats, legionnaire or wide brimmed hats. They must
be navy blue in colour – with or without the school
logo. Grade 6 students have a “special” Grade 6 hat
which they are able to wear. Please remember no
baseball style hats are to be worn as part of the
school uniform as they don’t conform to the
school’s policy.
Your co-operation in this matter will be greatly
appreciated.
Have a great holiday everyone!!!!!

LIFE EDUCATION VICTORIA As part of our drug and health education next term we are having the Life Education mobile classroom visit our school in the first week back from holidays from Tuesday 6th October – 13th October. Life Education has been visiting our school for many years and is always a highlight of the children’s year. The Mobile Classroom helps to facilitate the development of the life skills in students to prevent and minimise the harm of drug misuse. Lessons are always age appropriate and the children will be covering a wide range of drug and health related topics, ranging from the human body and how it works, healthy eating and nutrition, medicines and drugs, bullying, resilience and social skills. Healthy Harold, the much loved Life Education giraffe mascot is always a much anticipated element of the Life Education visit. It is important that your child attend this session. A permission slip is enclosed in this week’s newsletter and has also been handed out to students already. Please return the permission form together with your payment as soon as possible to the office.
