It was easier for them to design, implementand manage the MOOC as a group, instead of
as individuals, because each convenor
brought different strengths to the MOOC
This made the MOOC more manageable toone convenor who expressed relief, I didnthave to do everything. I also didnt have to
know everything about everything.

The biggest theme that emerged [...] aboutthe implementation of the MOOC was themultiple technologies or virtual spaces
used for interactions (with participants andamong participants)
The convenors choice and use of the virtualspaces depended on their own familiarity and comfort level with the technology used

... it needs an intensive planning phase ... design your virtual communicati on spaces ... think about different responsibilities ... adapt virtual discussion spaces to thematic units ... be open for new emergent situations
