The AC solar system
With the 3 and 5 pole RST plug connector system,
Wieland offers the optimum solution for the AC fi eld.
Pre-assembled components and the protection class
IP 68 provide a quick and secure installation – even
under tough conditions. The RST system includes plug
connectors for the assembly on site, pre-assembled
lines as well as device connections, e.g. for inverters
and main distributors. These are already factory fi tted
by leading manufacturers. Moreover, pre-assembled
main distributors and distribution boxes are part of our
product range.
Inverters are often assembled in groups featuring a
uniform distance one to another. On the AC side, the
assembly is similar as it is done in the module-to-
module connections on the DC side for quite a long
time. By means of the gesis products, logistics and
assembly times can be reduced to a minimum.
The DC solar system
The photovoltaic plug connectors PST 40i1 of
Wieland Electric for the connection of PV modules
and inverters are secure, easy to assemble, and
waterproof. This has been proven by an extensive test
of the photovoltaic magazine ”Photon“. The laboratory
test certifi ed the PV plug connectors not only a high
ranking within the top league of all tested plug
connectors, but also the test winner position among the single-pole, interlockable plugs for solar engineering

Perfect for Everyday Use
gesis® for ignition voltages of up to 5 kV has been
developed for discharge lamps. High pressure
discharge lamps are characterized by their high
profitability and extreme luminous efficacy. For the
ignition of these lamps, special electronic ballasts
are required. These can either be integrated in the
lamp or installed separately.
In order to comply with the special requirements
regarding the ignition voltage, an own coding for this
application has been added to the gesis programm.
The special color and mechanical coding prevent
any unintended erroneous plugging with the GST 18
standard coding in black or white. For a better
recognizability, some products are additionally
equipped with a special print-on (”5 kV“).
No-Flame plug connectors for GST 18i3 … i5 are
manufactured and marked especially for applications
which require the compliance with the verifi cation of
fi re hazard acc. to the standard EN 60335-1

Modern lamps are ”gesis TOP ready“. Whether
conventional connection using luminaire terminals or
pluggable connection – these luminaires are ready for

lamp version by using a special lamp terminal strip
and our adapter.
Building on the success story of gesis TOP and further

Flexible Contacting Without Interruption!
The flexible busbar gesis NRG serves as a central
supply line for efficient installations. Contacts are
made by means of insulation piercing connection
technology using V screws and are possible in any
position along the main line. Thus, the transition to
the desired gesis product line is established without
line interruption.
The main advantage is their flexibility: Contrarily to
fixed busbars, the flat cable can be comfortably
installed in cable trays and adapts optimally to the
structural conditions on site. Once inserted, the leads
can be set exactly where they are needed - without
line interruption.
Through the variants regarding the number of poles
of the flat cables, you can individually plan your
applications. A combined 5+2 pole flat cable, which
contains five insulated conductors for network
applications and a 2 pole shielded signal line (PELV),
constitutes the basis. Alternatively, the flat cables are
also available separately; 5 pole for pure power
supply and 2 pole for bus or control signals (PELV)
correspondingly. The 5 pole flat cable with 5 x 10 mm²
