From the Desk of Padre José…..
On this First Sunday of Advent we are encouraged to leave our daily anxieties to the Lord and simply trust Him. We probably all have heard, “Let go and let God” be. This reminder of our readings today is a gift for us to continue trusting in the Lord in all things. We heard last week from our Finance Council and Parish Council members about the present situation of our finances. I want to thank them for truly being transparent and for safeguarding our financial story. Let us be at peace; God will provide. The gift of advent is an invitation for us to focus on what is important and to simply let go of the anxieties that may take that peace away. Of course, this is easier said than done, but as a parish family and Church community we are invited to trust in God at all times. May we continue to sing with joy, “O come O come Emmanuel.” Be with us Lord and renew our trust in
YOU. Please be assured of my prayers for you, and may the anxieties of daily life be lifted up to God in prayer, and may He dwell with us. Fraternally, Fr. José
P.S. This past Monday, we met with the lectors from our parish where we dialogued and encouraged the following of the rubrics for Proclaiming the Word of God. We will be meeting with all of our Eucharistic Ministers this coming Monday, December 3, at 7:00 PM in the Church. We will continue the dialogue with them about being Extraordinary Ministers of Communion. Please continue to pray for all our ministers as we learn from each other and encourage each other to grow in Faith and understanding. This weekend we are also presenting to you the Safeguard the Children committee members at all Masses. Let us pray for all of those who are actively ministering in our Church at different ministries. We are truly blessed. I thank you. Let us all continue to pray for all our ministries.
Estamos verdaderamente bendecidos. Te lo agradezco. Sigamos todos orando por todos nuestros ministerios.

REPORTING ABUSE/MISCONDUCT It is important to communicate your concerns if you observe anyone interacting with a child
in an inappropriate manner. Parents, family members, teachers, clergy and all who work with or are responsible for the care of children need to remember that speaking up is one of the most important
things they can do to protect not just their own children, but all children. Voicing your concerns is critical to protecting God’s children. Any incident of abuse or misconduct should be immediately
reported. For a copy of the complete VIRTUS® article, “Are We Communicating our Concerns?,” please visit http://www.la-archdiocese.org/org/protecting/Pages/VIRTUS-Current-Online-Articles.aspx.
Are We Communicating our Concerns?” (¿Estamos comunicando nuestras preocupaciones?), visita http://www.la-archdiocese.org/org/protecting/Pages/VIRTUS-Current-Online-Articles.aspx.
