Welcome New Neighbors!
We have lots of new families in the neighborhood! We hope upcoming
spring events & the opening of the pool for summer will allow new oppor-
tunities for everyone to get better acquainted! There are many ways to get
involved, help out the neighborhood and meet new people!
This year’s Fox Chase Easter Egg Hunt was a great success ~ it was a beau-
tiful day and we had a great turnout! Thanks to Nicole Whittier for head-
ing it up & Lori Miller for volunteering to help hide eggs!

Upcoming Events in Fox Chase
Neighborhood Yard Sale Saturday, May 6th
Clean out those basements, garages & spare bedrooms! Our neighbor-
hood yard sale is advertised in the local newspaper, signs are placed at
the front of the neighborhood & we encourage you to invite friends! Yard
sale day is also a great time to get out and meet neighbors!
Community Spruce Up Day! Saturday, May 20th
We have so many beautiful, outdoor spaces to enjoy from the amenities area, to the lake, open fields for sports & play, bridges & walking paths but we also need lots of help to maintain these areas for everyone. Our community spruce up day is a great opportunity to contribute to the upkeep of our neighborhood as well as to get to know others! Some of the tasks on the agenda this year include trash clean up, bridge repair, cutting back nature trails, perennial planting, hauling away damaged equipment, cleaning up & mulch-ing flower beds. Please meet up at the amenities area beginning at 8am. Refreshments provided!
Making Fox Chase Shine One House at a Time
As the weather warms and we turn our attention outside, the Architectural Review
Committee (ARC) encourages everyone to survey their houses and take corrective
action (i.e., cleaning, replacing, repainting/re-staining, etc.) as necessary. Look for:
• Faded or damaged shutters (unless the fading is severe, treating your shutters
with Armor All® can revive them)
• Stained roofs
• Damaged, dirty, or stained siding, decks, and trim
• Damaged, dirty, or stained mailboxes and posts
The ARC makes an effort to give residents an opportunity to correct issues on their
own; if an issue is discovered, a letter will be privately sent to homeowners alerting
them to issues which may require attention. If you require professional services,
such as pressure washing, coordinate with your neighbors. Many companies offer
discounts to homeowners when they provide services to multiple homes within one
neighborhood on the same day.
Be Safe, Courteous & Respectful of our Neighborhood & Fellow Residents
Please abide by the speed limit in the neighborhood at all times for the safety of others. We have many new families out &
about with young children, runners, bike riders and others enjoying outdoor activity, be mindful. If you have older children
riding their bikes or walking through the neighborhood on their own, please also remind them to be considerate, move to
the side of the road when cars are coming, refrain from walking or riding bikes through others’ yards or into driveways
without permission. We have seen a lot of trash on walking trails and in other areas more recently- We are all responsible
for picking up after ourselves when enjoying the outdoor spaces. This is common courtesy for each other, the en-
vironment and also important in maintaining the overall appearance and value of our homes. & neighborhood.
Reminders:
The ARC must approve:
• New mailboxes, exterior doors
& lighting, pools, decks, porch-
es, driveway extensions,
sheds, etc.
• Any exterior color change
• Landscaping (e.g., adding or
removing trees or shrubs, cre-
ating large gardens, etc.)
Trailers, boats, & campers must
weigh under 7,500 lbs & may not
be visible from the street. If in
doubt, please ask:
Respect our Common Grounds
Please do not drive any motor-
ized vehicles — cars, trucks, mo-
torcycles, mini-bikes, go-carts,
ATVs, etc. — on the amenities
property, including the asphalt
trails. Only authorized vehicles
necessary to perform periodic
maintenance may driven on the
grounds.
Summer is coming!
The Fox Chase Pool opens Memorial Day!
Look out for more info on our opening
celebration with neighbors that day! We enjoy
bringing snacks, dishes & dessert to share!
Looking for a few good… Neighbors!
The Fox Chase pool, playground area, other recreation spaces and amenities are enjoyed by many, especially throughout the spring and sum-
mer but we cannot maintain everything and keep the pool open all summer without the help of volunteers. Trash has been a big problem by
the bridges. If you use the trails, maybe bring a trash bag to pick up trash as you go along. There are trash cans by the shed to deposit the
trash!
If you and your family take advantage of the pool & amenities areas, please sign up to volunteer. Volunteering our own time to take care of
these tasks and various needs allows us to keep our neighborhood & HOA costs lower for everyone. Without volunteers, we would be forced
to hire a Property Management Company and/or Pool Management Company, which could increase our yearly expenses by $30,000 to
$35,000. Thanks to those who already assist in this! We can always use more help!
What can you do?
-POOL HELP: Volunteers to open or close the pool– this is typically a week long commitment and takes only a small amount of time per
day. A week could even be shared by more than one family if you’re unable to do a full week. Any & all help is appreciated! Someone will be
happy to meet you at the pool to go over these duties if you’re uncertain. Please contact Catherine Miller at [email protected]. if you
have time to spare.
- GRASS CUTTING: We have reduced the areas that need to be cut through expanding the duties of the landscaping company we hire,
but we still rely on volunteers to cut other areas of grass each week throughout spring, summer and fall. Again, this is a way we are able to
keep costs lower for all homeowners. Without volunteers to do this, we would need to pay for this to be done, thus increasing general costs.

cold cut sandwich from their deli!
Keeping Watch We ask residents to continue to keep watch in the neighborhood — get to know those who live
around you and look out for each other. As you drive, bike, walk, and jog through the neighbor-
hood, be alert to suspicious activity. If anything looks unusual, call the Spotsylvania Sheriff De-
partment’s non-emergency number: 540.582.7115. We still have complaints from residents about
speeding cars; report speeding to the non-emergency number as well. Those calls help deter-
mine where the deputies patrol. The more patrols we have, the safer Fox Chase is for us all.
Have you found a local business you love– something unique or even just someone who offers reliable service and great
work? Want to give them a shout out in the next newsletter?
Email [email protected] (RE: Fox Chase newsletter) with suggestions of local businesses you’d like
neighbors to know about and we will try to compile a list to be featured in a future publication!
