2000 Winchester Rd.
Lexington, Kentucky 40509 (859) 381-4110
EVERY STUDENT will need to select 8 courses in order to have a "full" schedule. This will not include the 4 alternatives.Students will earn .5 credit per course for each semester they complete (1 full credit per year).Students MUST give priority to graduation requirements and should utilize their transcripts to ensure requirements are met. If students have failed courses, they MUST work with their counselor to recover needed credits.
Graduation requirements:Students interested in programs at Eastside, Southside or Locust Trace, Opportunity Middle College, The Learning Center should have applications to these programs submitted with their schedule card.Students interested in Dual Credit courses must EKU and/or BCTC admission requirements. DC courses are taught in "pairs" in order for students to receive HS credit.Based on the number of students interested in particular courses ultimately, determine if a course is "offered". We will do our best to include a broad variety of course that match the interest and ability of our diverse student body. However, not everyone will get everything they are interested in this year.I have been working with counselors throughout the district to make the transition as smooth as possible for students and will meet with most throughout this semester on course placement and selection. Families may leave completed schedule materials this evening or return them to student current schools by _________________.Choosing Academies -Students will rank order their Academy & pathway preference. Students who have successfully started a particular pathway will be given preference for that pathway. With an exception being the Freshman Academy - there will be approximately 50-70 students per pathway or 250-300 per academy.ALL freshman will be a part of the Freshman Academy.
