The slot structure

Theme : World of Stories Topic : Kate and the monster Objective(s) : By the end of the lesson pupils
will be able to: i. use singular and plural nouns correctly and

Set Induction: Teacher shows a story entitled ‘Princess Kate and the monsters’ .
Pupils talk about the story; the pictures, the characters and storyline.

Once upon a time, there was a princess named Kate. She lived happily with the king and queen.
One night, three big monsters came to her room. King Steve and Queen Pauline were sleeping. The monsters kidnapped her.
The monsters ran and took Princess Kate to the mountains.
They locked her up in a dungeon. Princess was very sad.
The king and queen ordered a brave and handsome prince to save the lovely princess.
He rode his white horse quickly to the mountains.
He found the princess and fought with the ugly monsters.

Step 1 Teacher gives a text of a story and read the
story.◦ Asking pupils to locate nouns in the text ◦ Teacher guides pupils to underline the nouns in
the text .
Step 2 Teacher asks pupils to list out the nouns and put on the table. Teacher plays a game called “ memory game ”
◦ Teacher displays the pictures of plural and singular nouns to the pupils and in their groups, pupils will be given time to memorise the nouns. Then, they will be instructed to find and arrange the words in the right order showed by teacher.
Step 3: Teacher asks the pupils to write the nouns of in the table. To the LINUS2.0 pupils, they will be given task sheet. The task sheet requires to do two things. 1. write the initial letter of the nouns. 2. put the nouns in the table.
Step 4: write at least 5 simple sentences using the nouns
with guidance. LINUS2.0 learners write the sentences with the guidance of notes.
Trainer divides Cps into groups (or use their existing group)
The Cps will choose a grammar content that they are going to work on. Different group should work on different grammar content.
Then, Cps should work together as a group in producing:
1- Lesson plan (soft copy) 2- Materials (soft copy) 3- Ways of accommodating or assisting weak learners. (soft copy) After the workshop, Cps should present or
demonstrate the lesson.

Group discussion to come up with grammar lesson according to the DSKP year 4.
Presentation/demonstration For low performance pupils, let us think on
how to include them in our lesson.
