Squirrel cage type:Squirrel cage type:Copper bars embedded in the rotor slots Shorted at both end by end ringsSimple, low cost, robust, low maintenance
Wound rotor type:Wound rotor type:Winding is wound by wires. Slip rings and brushes .Easy to control speed, more expensive.
most common is the “squirrel cage”
