The g i r l s in the th i rd y e a r home economics c l a s s e s of Spar ta High School have been spending the las t few weeks studying the A m e r i c a n Red C r o s s Mother and Infant C a r e c o u r s e under the supe rv i s ion of a r e g i s t e r e d nu r se , M r s . Fu la Tod le -ben a s s i s t e d by the home economics t e a c h e r s , M r s . T h o m a s Dalgle ish and Miss M a r g a r e t Lapham.

Included in the c o u r s e a r e p rena ta l c a r e ; bi r th of the baby; infant c a r e ; and the phys ica l , emot iona l , menta l , and soc ia l development of the chi ld .

The Red C r o s s of f ice fu rn i shed many c h a r t s , two l ife s i ze baby dol l s , l aye t t e s , and bath equipment fo r use in demons t r a t i on and l abo ra to ry p r a c t i c e .

Peach Ridge Library Reopens

The Peach Ridge branch of the Kent County L i b r a r y , which was c losed because of the lack of o p e r a -ting funds last August 3, has reopened thanks to $400 ap-p r o p r i a t e d by the Alpine Township Board for that pu rpose .

Although the Peach Ridge branch had been closed by the county, the books t he r e had not been r emoved . Its c losing had c rea t ed cons ide rab le con t rove r sy among, the r e s i d e n t s of the a r ea who wanted it to r e m a i n open.
