Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine (RowanSOM) is dedicated to refining physicians’
knowledge to manage the changing needs of the healthcare system. This lecture series is devised to augment
physician expertise via material on current clinical guideline recommendations, as well as up-to-date advances in
medical treatments on specific topics.

Prevention and Safety

Upon completion of this series, participants should be able to:
1. Implement inter-professional and collaborative care strategies for geriatric patients with dementia in the
outpatient setting.
2. Develop prevention and treatment plans for adults and children who have been subjected to domestic
violence or child abuse.
3. Implement updated immunization and preventive guidelines including sports examinations and weight
management plans for pediatric and adolescent patients.
4. Implement current guidelines and recommendations for the management of both acute and chronic pain
in the outpatient setting.
5. Apply osteopathic manipulative treatment for commonly diagnosed somatic dysfunctions of the
upper body.

This CME program anticipates 5 (five) Category 1A CME credit hours per Saturday block. Physicians should only
claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Osteopathic physicians may
earn up to 30 percent of their Category 1A requirement from interactive internet CME (i.e., up to nine Category
1A CME credits for members with a requirement of thirty Category 1A credits.) To receive credit for interactive
internet CME, osteopathic physicians must complete a CME quiz with passing grade of 70.
