Fell walking is the most popularactivity in the Lake District and the smartest, safest and most pleasurable way to tackle the fells is by joining a guide. Reach the highestsummits or explore hiddenvalleys, waterfalls andwoodlands on low level walks -there's something for all agesand abilities.
A combination of rock climbingand hill walking these trips are designed to get adventurersinto places the average ramblerwill never go.
The exposed ridges and out-there rock climbs on theseroutes require hands onclimbing so helmets, harnessesand ropes are required in the most exposed places.
The family will never be bored.

Destination Cumbria and The Adventure Partnership are constantly working with operators to create new and exciting trips for you to enjoy everytime you come to the Lake District.
Serious Fun Gorge Scrambling has opened 6 new gorge scrambles on the edges of the Lake District, so you can avoid the crowds.
Blackwater Rafting: Currently under development with The Dales AdventureCentre. This is a great new trip that gives you the opportunity to float through a flooded cave system in a padded inner tube. A willingness to get wet is necessary as the jumps, slides and scrambles require total commitment.
White Water Tubing:Another great new activity in the Lake District, thischallenge uses similar tubes to the Black Water Rafting to tackle the white water of several of the bigger rivers, floating serenely down the calmest sections as you learnthe skills to take on the bigger rapids with confidence.
Water Rollers and Water Walkers:The main craze for 2011 is the opportunity to walk onwater. These inflatable balls and tubes can be found in sheltered locations on the main lakes, giving you the opportunity to run around like a mad idiot toeveryone’s amusement.
