Technology LeadershipIt’s a Flat World, After AllBy Thomas L. Freidman
Quoting Marc Andreessen
“Today, the most profound thing to me is the fact that a 14-year old in Romania or Bangalore or the Soviet Union or Vietnam has all the information, all the tools, all the software easily available to apply knowledge however they want…That is why I am sure the next Napster is going to come out of left field. As bioscience becomes more computational and less about wet labs and as all the genomic data becomes easily available on the Internet, at some point you will be able to design vaccines on your laptop…”

“The core of education reform remains Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. It is not the intent to replace the 3Rs, but to expand our notions of what it means to be able to read within a global electronic library of multimedia information; to use, analyze, m anipulate, and add value to data that is almost exclusively digital; and make our ideas heard in a world where messages must compete for attention among the vast amount of other information that is out there.” David F. Warlick, 2004 “ Redefining Literacy f or the 21 st Century”
