LVDC NOVEMBER 2016 NEWSLETTER
Thank you Event Director
Mary Lou for staging your 3rd
successful Alan Hunt Memo-
rial Lizard Breath Fence Line
Run at the La Purisima State
Park. The weather inspired me
to wear my SeaWorld Adven-
tures Parks blue rain parka. I
manned the water table on the
course at the 2 green water
towers and I felt like the day
Shamu splashed me in the
crowd. Last year the event was
cancelled to a fire along the
course.
Next LVDC event is the 2nd
Annual Chase Santa Run/Walk
directed by Fran Zimmerman.
Last year Santa finished in 6th
place but I heard through the
grapevine that he has been
training hard to finish faster. The 1st
five finishers who beat Santa win a
special prize and Toys for Tots is
awarded gifts from the participants.
It’s a win-win situation for all!
Lastly, at the last LVDC Potluck their
was a motion to move the date of the
Half-Marathon back to September.
There were greater count of yeas than
nays. So I’m in the process of con-
firming a September 2017 date with
the Mission State Park. It is notewor-
thy that Betty Lee has directed this
event for the past 9 years. She is will-
ing to continue but I’m coming forth
to give her a break and lead the 41st
Annual Half-Marathon.
Happy Trails!
