• Medically, cellulite is primarily a condition of poor microcirculation
that causes damage to the fat tissue under the skin.
• Cellulite is usually found on the thighs and butt, especially in women.
It affects about 80 to 95% of women, regardless of weight. It only
affects 5% of men due to differences in fat levels and hormones.
• It is a complex process which has several causes of diverse nature:
dietetic, vascular, endocrine, lifestyle, etc.
CELLULITE: THE PROBLEM
• Aesthetically, cellulite is a problem consisting in
the visual presentation of weakened, damaged
fatty tissue and fibrous connective tissue in the
shape of lumps and dimples, commonly known as
“orange skin”.
CELLULITE VISIBLE SIGNS
CELLULITE FORMATION MECHANISMS
Vicious Circle
1. Failure of microcirculation system.
2. Leakage of liquid into the surrounding tissue.
3. Adipocytes start to manufacture excess tryglicerides and grow in
size, becoming trapped in the connective tissue.
4. Tissue congestion causes swelling, making it difficult for oxigen
and metabolites to reach the cells and hindering the drainage of
toxins.
5. Connective tissue including elastine and collagen becomes
increasingly damaged.
6. Formation of cellulite nodules.

NO TRACE FROM CELLULITE
• contains multivesicular liposomes of classical anti-cellulite
ingredients combined with the synergistic effect of a GHK
tripeptide.
• Their active ingredients act in 2 different ways: against fat
accumulation (lipolytic effect) and to fight microcirculation
failures responsible for cellulite (venotonic effect).
LIPOLYTIC ACTIVES:
• CAFFEINE: blocks enzymes responsible for destruction of AMPc, which is
involved in triglyceride breakage.
• TEA-HYDROIODIDE: has lipolytic properties by stimulating lipases.
• CARNITINE: enhances triglyceride mobility, accelerating their breakdown.
SCAVENGER ACTIVE:
• GHK (TRIPEPTIDE-1): is a specific savenger of certain by-products of lipidic
peroxidation.
LIPOREDUCTYL® ACTIVES
VENOTONIC ACTIVES:
• ESCIN (AESCULUS HIPPOCASTANUM): is a venotonic and anti-oedematous
ingredient.
• IVY EXTRACT (HEDERA HELIX): contains Hederine, an active saponin
responsible for blood vessel protection and permeability decrease. Ivy
helps to reabsorb the oedemas present in the initial stages of cellulite.
• BUTCHEBROOM EXTRACT (RUSCUS ACULEATUS): decreases capillary
permeability due to its content in flavonoids.
• CAFFEINE: it also possesses vasodilator properties, increasing blood flow.

INHIBITION OF ADIPOCYTE MATURATION
• A cell culture model of human preadipocytes was stimulated to differentiate
adipocytes.
• Lipid droplets were visualised by phase contrast microscopy and quantified by image
analysis.

CELLULITE
PREVENTION
The dose-dependent reduction in adipocytes and consequently in
lipid droplets (in blue) confirms:
• LIPOREDUCTYL® effectiveness.
• LIPOREDUCTYL® does not target any other cell type.
• Tissues affected by skin aging contain elevated levels of reactive α,β-unsaturated
aldehydes, such as 4-hydroxy-2-nonenal (HNE), malondialdehyde (MDA) and acrolein
(ACR), all of which are well known by-products of lipid peroxidation.
• GHK is a potent aldehyde-sequestering agent.

PERCUTANEOUS ABSORPTION
A skin penetration test was performed using a 3D in
vitro skin model (from Skinethic® Laboratories, Nice).
Caffeine and Escin were monitored for penetration
together with LIPOREDUCTYL® and compared with
free actives.
• Caffeine penetration increased 5-fold
compared to pure caffeine.
• Escin penetration increased almost 8-fold
compared to pure escin.

MACROSCOPIC TRANSLATION
EVALUATION OF THE ANTI-CELLULITE EFFECTS
CONCLUSIONS
• Shows four specific cellulite-fighting actions:
Revolutionary cellulite prevention due to action on the maturation process of
adipocytes.
Traditional lipolytic activity provided by classic anti-cellulite ingredients.
Activation of microcirculation due to the powerful venotonic profile of several actives.
The GHK peptide acts as an efficient scavenger for by-products of lipidic peroxidation.
• These properties translate into visual effects:
Enhanced microcirculation improves the skin’s complexion.
Improved skin hydration and skin elasticity.
Reduction in thigh and buttock circumference.
Reduction in extracellular water and body fat mass.
