WHITE Weddings 069

‘It was through the hall that we were introduced to our wedding planners, Tillyboo, who were brilliant. They truly helped us create a gorgeous and very personal wedding day.’

Bride’s dressElizabeth’s dress was from Caroline Castigliano – a style called Beautiful. She wore an ivory sash, keeping the whole look simple, accessorised with an alice band and a brooch.

She also wore some beautiful Castigliano earrings which Ben had bought her for Christmas six months before the wedding. ‘I had tried them on during an accessory appointment in the store and mentioned them to Ben. He rang up the store and bought them over the phone, getting my Mum to collect them and wrapping them “blind” so he’d still never seen them before the Big Day!’

BridesmaidsThe four bridesmaids were Elizabeth’s two best friends from university and two eldest nieces. The older pair wore cherry-coloured evening dresses, while the nieces wore ivory dresses with an organza overlay to complement the style of the bride’s dress. Elizabeth’s two baby nieces (16 months and six months) were fl ower girls, dressed in cute little white dresses from Monsoon.

Main menBen and his groom’s party all wore traditional morning suit – black jacket, striped grey trousers, silver waistcoats and standard ‘day’ collars. The majority of them wore silver ties, but Ben and his two best men had pink Hugo Boss ties, which co-ordinated with the older girls’ cherry dresses.

FlowersHand-tied bouquets of country garden fl owers, including a variety of roses and foliage, all bound with ivory ribbon. The bride’s bouquet was was accessorised with a brooch left to her by her late grandmother.

EntertainmentDuring the drinks reception Hugh, a school-friend of Ben’s, provided some jazz music as part of a trio. Hugh is a brilliant trumpeter and also accompanied the organ during the entrance music, Charpentier’s Te Deum.
