▫Pay particular attention to the following: Desired Outcomes of EL Proficiency in Singapore Teaching Processes ( ACoLADE ) Principles of EL Teaching & Learning ( CLLIPS ) Skills, Strategies, Attitudes and Behaviour (SSAB) for

•Request to examine the following documents:▫Textbooks▫Guides to the syllabus ✔✔✔▫Schemes of work▫Assessment schemes

During ESE• Observe a range of EL lessons and discuss with
the teacher about:▫The lesson objectives▫Strategies to teach the following:
Listening Speaking Reading Writing Viewing Representing Grammar Vocabulary

During ESE•Observe a range of EL lessons and discuss
with teachers about:▫The use of textbooks and/or resource materials▫The use of technology to enhance EL teaching
& learning▫How to achieve effective classroom
management•Compare all these with the EL lessons you
had when you were in school▫What were the similarities and differences?

Post ESE• Deliverable:
A Reflection
▫ Compare the EL lessons you are going to observe during ESE with the EL lessons you had when you were a secondary student. What are the differences and similarities?
▫ What do you hope to learn at NIE so that you can teach English Language effectively? You may want to write specifically about teaching 2 or more of the following: Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking, Vocabulary and Grammar.

Post ESE
•Deliverable: A Reflection •Very important to note: • You will need to upload/post your
reflection to your personal e-portfolio. •You will need to present your e-portfolio
to your supervisor and practicum school •A briefing will be conducted on (1)
Practicum & (2) the setting up of your personal e-portfolio during the semesters.
