DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY
WE ARE TO BEAR A FAITHFUL WITNESS TO THE
GOSPEL BY THE EXAMPLE OF OUR LIVES
We have come to believe in the risen Lord through the witness and example of faithful Christians, the testimony of sacred Scripture, and through the graces of the sacraments. Blessed with such a great gift which imparts upon us an abundance of blessings, let us, through the example of our lives, bear a faithful witness to the Gospel.
Thomas answered and said to him, "My Lord and my God!" Jesus said to him, "Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed." - Jn 20:28-29

EARTH IS THE WATER PLANET In light of Pope Francis’ encyclical, Laudato Si: Care for
Our Common Home, in solidarity with the people of Flint, Michigan and all those who suffer with polluted water, the Franciscan Religious Communities of WNY invite you to pray, learn and enjoy the gift of our Sister Water. These events are co-sponsored by the Diocesan Care for Creation Committee: Saturday, April 9 at 2 PM at Penn Dixie, 4050 North Street in Blasdell, sponsored by Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph, Felician Sisters, and Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities; Saturday, April 23 at 11 AM at Franchot Park by the Allegany River, sponsored by Franciscan Sisters of Allegany; April 29 at 10 AM at the Stella Niagara Preserve, Lower River Road in the Town of Lewiston, sponsored by Sisters of St. Francis of Penance & Christian Charity, Stella Niagara (bad weather date of May 2). The event is ecumenical and open to all.
MARRIAGE MOMENT Growing old together:”I want to make you smile whenever you’re sad: carry you around when your arthritis is bad. All I want do is grow old with you. I’ll get your medicine when your tummy aches; build you a fire if the furnace breaks. Oh, it could be so nice growing old with you.”
ARE YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW AN OUT OF
WORK JOB SEEKER
Are you or someone you know an out of work job seeker? Facing the challenge of being unemployed and working through this tough economy is tough enough. You don’t have to go it alone.
Contact the Office of Family Life Ministries for your free packet containing practical resources, prayers, scripture support, and programs designed to support you on your journey. Just call us at 716-847-2210 or email [email protected].
Don’t forget to get your envelopes for our monthly 50/50 split club. Envelopes are available at all entrances of the church. Good Luck!!
ST. VINCENT de PAUL SOCIETY
In the Gospel today, Jesus stands in the midst of us and says: “Peace be with you!” During Mass we turn to each other and say “Peace be with you!” As you put your gift into the St. Vincent de Paul box, you say “Peace be with you!” to those who are poor and hungry.
VOCATIONS It is an unspeakable blessing that from our Lord flows boundless mercy, which is stronger than all of our sins combined. We should never forget this or take it for granted. Can God be calling you to help share His mercy in a profound way? If God is calling you to a Church vocation, call Fr. Andrew Lauricella at 847-5535. You can also check out the “Priest of the Month” stories on our website, www.buffalovocations.org! “The mercy of God is his loving concern for each one of us. He feels responsible; that is, he desires our well-being and he wants to see us happy, full of joy, and peaceful. This is the path which the merciful love of Christians must also travel.”
~ Pope Francis
