Udaipur: The final year students of three years engineering diplomacourse of Vidya Bhawan Polytechnic have developed innovative pro-jects in order to contribute towards Smart City. Principal Dr Anil Mehtatermed the efforts of students as smart approach.

The radio frequency based car parking system allows only autho-rised RFID card holder to park vehicle at designated parking. Thisproject idea will help in controlling un authorised parking. The alco-hol detection system and helmet synchronised two wheeler ignitiondeveloped are useful in controlling road accidents. If the driver breathhas alcohol then vehicle will not start. Similarly without wearing hel-met , the two wheeler will not start. The students have also devel-oped voice controlled wheel chair for disabled citizens. The wheelchair moves forward , backward and sidewise as per the voice com-mand given.

To help tourists ,students developed on line guide management system. They have also developed on line blood control manage-ment system. Similarly projects on water over flow control, sorting of fruits and vegetables on the basis of size etc have also beendeveloped. For citizens of smart city, the students have designed ultramodern residential complex which is energy efficient, liveable,and sanitized. Principal Mehta informed that most of students are from village area and their technical aptitude ensures positive out-come of Make in India mission of government of India.

Udaipur: (Prashant Shrivastava) It took about 1600explosions to penetrate the tunnel through which is beingconstructed under the water refraction project. The lengthof the tunnel is a quarter to two kilometers and is locat-ed near Devendra anicut near Parsaad village. Theengineers had to carry out about 1600 controlled blaststo get the tunnel through. The last blast was initiatedby the Member of Parliament Arjun Lal Meena andSalumber MLA Amrit Lal Meena.

The total worth of the project is about 43.84 croresof rupees. There was a strong wave of happiness amongthe project team and people as this was a milestoneachieved. The alignment target of the tunnel was foundto be successfully achieved.

MLA and MP took the progress report of the projectfrom the officiating additional chief engineer Rajesh Tepan.

The project was approved in 2013-14 with a bud-get of 43 crores.

An anicut with a capacity of 33.14 MCFT is beinglaid on the Paarai River. About 45% of the constructionwork of the anicut of already complete. Lining work insidethe tunnel is now pending. According to the officials,the tunnel will be completed by November of 2017 whileby December next year, the anicut will be ready as well.After the completion, about 496 cusec of water will bediverted to Chaavand, Kejad, and Harchand reservoirs.Chaawand after getting water will be developed as atourist spot. This project will also help irrigation in about1200 hectare of landscape and as many as 27 villageswill get fluoride-less water for consumption.

This is fifth such tunnel project of the Udaipur dis-trict of water refraction. Earlier tunnels were con-structed under Devas and Mansi Wakal projects.

Udaipur: On the occasion ofInternational Yoga Day, LIC divi-sion office Udaipur personnel cel-ebrated Yoga Day with passion andenthusiasm in a program headedby Senior Divisional ManagerSanjay Bhargava. More than 50personnel and their family mem-bers participated in this program.

sion, Senior Divisional ManagerMr. Sanjay Bhargava addressingthe public present in the occasion,made people aware about the use-fulness of yoga in our daily lives,saying that it keeps the mind andbody healthy as well as the con-centration remains the same.Bhargava insisted that everyoneshould take time out for themselvesevery morning and do yoga andpranayama for an hour to reap thebenefits.

Udaipur: (Prashant Shrivastava) After being listed in the smart cityproject, last Saturday the home minister Gulab Chand Kataria inau-gurated several projects in the scheme. Entire Udaipur rejoiced andthe efforts of central government were applauded by one and all.

All the important people of the project along with public repre-sentatives attended the program. Open air gymnasium, urban healthcenter at Jagdish Chowk, command and control building in the premis-es of Municipal Corporation, heritage conservation and developmentin heritage house were the main project launched. Smart class roomwas also inaugurated at the Kanwarpada school of Jagdish Chowk.A solar plant at the roof top of Meera Bai Community hall at ShivajiNagar was also inaugurated.

Home minister not only flagged off tourist buses from the railwaystation but he also took a ride and then inaugurated an air-condi-tioned room at Tourist welcome center of Fateh Memorial. He alsoglanced a screen that show major tourist spots of the city. Katariasuggested to install such bigger screen outside so that people cansee various activities at these spots.
