The workshop was organ-ised for in-service teachersat higher secondary level inthe subjects of English,Hindi, Urdu, PoliticalScience and Education. Itwas organised in collabora-tion with the Directorate ofSamagra Shiksha J&K.
The workshop was con-ducted under the overallsupervision of JointDirector (Trainings) SIEJammu, J.K Sudan inwhich all the field advisorsand faculty of SIE werepresent.
Mohinder Singh, FA,while speaking on the occa-sion, exhorted upon all par-ticipants to adopt the best
pedagogical techniques toimprove the quality of edu-cation and achieve the aca-demic excellence.
A total of 100lecturers/senior lecturersfrom across the 10 districtsof Jammu Province partici-pated in the training.Twenty participants in eachsubject attended the work-shop to hone their skills.

Acting on a tip-off, a party of Police Station Kralkhudraided a gambling den in Basant Bagh Gowkadal areaand arrested four gamblers namely Zahoor AhmadNajar, son of Habibullah Najar, resident of Mandirbagh,Shahnawaz Ahmad Tramboo, son of late Ali MohdTramboo, Jamsheed Ali Malla, son of Ali Mohd Mallaand Abdul Majid Kant, son of Mohd Sultan Kant, all res-idents of Basantbagh. Stake money of Rs 4,230 andplaying cards were recovered from the gambling site.

STATE TIMES NEWSSRINAGAR: Former IAS officer Shah Faesal, who quit theservice recently, Friday shared his future plans, saying hewould not join any mainstream political parties "as of now", orseparatist Hurriyat Conference, but would be happy to con-test the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The 2010-batch officer said he was deeply inspired by thestyle of politics of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan andDelhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, but the "situation" inJammu and Kashmir would not allow him to pursue politicstheir style.
"As of now, I do not have any plans to join any existing main-stream political party. I plan to go to the field, listen to theground, to the youngsters and important stakeholders andthen take a decision," he told reporters here.
"I am deeply inspired by Imran Khan and Arvind Kejriwal.But, we know we are operating in a conflict zone and it is notvery easy for us to work in that space, a space which has lostlegitimacy in last few years.
"I wish if the youngsters of the state give me that kind ofopportunity, I will be happy to do a retake of Imran Khan andKejriwal," Faesal added.
He said he would be holding consultations with allstaekholders including political parties before taking the nextstep. "In Kashmir, we need to come together. We are in a cri-sis situation. It is not time to do politics on the graves of thepeople."
Asked if he would be contesting the elections, Faesal said, "Iwill be happy to contest the upcoming elections. In fact, Ibelieve parliament and legislature are important space and weneed well-meaning and right people there."
He said that in the recent years, due to the "delegitimising"of the electoral politics because of the way it has been conduct-ed, youths are not attracted to it. "We need to change that. Iwish to use Parliament for engagement, for bringing solutionsto our problems."
