ScoreSense
Who is ScoreSense? ScoreSense is one of many businesses under the corporation One Technologies LP, that seems to focus many of their efforts in the financial and credit industry. ScoreSense is mainly a credit company that offers identity theft protection as one of their services. ScoreSense has been around for eight years and many people come across their brand. They even offer potential customers a free seven-day trial to help them get an idea of what it would be like to have a full membership with ScoreSense.
ScoreSense offers some great features that we find most important in an identity theft protection company. First, their insurance policy claims to provide $1 million insurance that will be applied to identity theft victims. The provider for the insurance is AIG and if the victim reports their case within 90 days then they will be able to use $4,000 towards lost wages/income that is needed to help restore their identity. ScoreSense also offers credit monitoring with all three credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian and TransUnion) upon signup. Other features you can get with ScoreSense include neighborhood sex offender alerts, dispute resolution assistance and credit tools.
We have found some significant negative things about One Technologies and all of the businesses that are under them. Even though their Better Business Bureau grade shows an A+, they have had hundreds of complaints in the last year. Their main complaints are categorized as billing/collection issues as well as problems with product/service. To their defense, they have closed nearly 3,000 of complaints in the last three years. On the other hand, what company is doing something so wrong to collect that many complaints in the first place? Something clearly needs to be fixed on One Technologies end so they can stop the constant complaints they are receiving.
Not only is One Technologies collec0ng complaints on the Be5er Business Bureau, but ScoreScore specifically is receiving their own set of complaints on BestIDTheACompanys.com (BIDTC). With an average user score of 2.2 out of 10, ScoreSense customers have heavily voiced that they keep geLng falsely charged and that they don’t get their money back even aAer they call and complain. They frequently call ScoreSense a scam and a rip-‐off with horrible customer service. No other company on BIDTC receives a consistent amount of nega0ve and detailed reviews about their experience with a company. This is a great indicator that ScoreSense is not a company to trust any type of service with.
There are far more negative things about ScoreSense than there are positive. Even if ScoreSense were a great identity theft protection company, their price is nearly $30/month which is one of the most expensive in the industry. And for that $30 each month, you will be barely receiving anything of substance on the customers end. It’s much better for someone to sign up with a true identity theft protection company like LifeLock or Identity Guard that offers more than one type of protection and recovery services for half of the monthly price. ScoreSense is missing far too many components to a good service and all of those factors contribute to a low Overall Score of 3.6 out of 10.

You can also view feature details, contract summaries, company comparisons, user reviews and more on their company profile. If you don’t trust our judgment and review of ScoreSense then there is plenty of evidence on the BIDTC user reviews as well as the BBB complaint section. We do not feel comfortable pushing potential customers towards a company that does not have a good reputation for customer service, billing, product quality, etc. We, instead, advice those people to read our Top Recommended on BestIDTheftCompanys.com to find better ID protection companies.
