"Synergized effort andcoordination between variousdepartments has to beensured to mitigate difficul-ties faced by people andeffectively", he said during aninteractive session held atPanchayat Jhajjar Kotli.

ACD Jammu, Aijaz Kesar,Block Development Officer,Vishav Partap Singh,Sarpanch Panchayat JhajjarKotli, Reena Thappa,Tehsildar and senior func-tionaries of PHE,PDD,RDD, Forest, Social Welfare,Tourism, Police, Health,Education and panchs, localpeople of Panchayat werepresent on the occasion.

KATHUA : Gram Sabhameetings, constitution of vil-lage health and sanitationcommittees, social audit com-mittees, procurement com-mittees and agriculture com-mittees besides inspection ofvarious government institu-tions in the villages of 44panchayats of 4 blocks of thedistrict marked the day sixof 'Back to Village' pro-gramme under the third

phase.During Gram Sabha meet-

ings at Jarai, Changran,Khokhyal, Godal, Durangand Thanthu panchayats ofthe district, villagers raiseddemand for fresh survey ofleft over beneficiaries for var-ious government schemes,community sanitary complex,compensation due to croploss, old age pension, scholar-ship for students, water sup-ply schemes, irrigation sys-tems, procurement centre foragri produce, transformers toaugment PDD infra andrepair of damaged roads.

DDC, Vikas Kundal, alongwith ADDC, Dr. ShubraSharma, ACD, SukhpaulSingh, BDO and concernedPatwari visited several pan-chayats.

The designated officers tothe panchayats distributedMGNREGA job cards,sapling of citrus fruits andLPG connections underUjjwala Yojana to the benefi-ciaries. They also conductedplantation and cleanlinessdrive in their respective pan-chayats.

School, Health Centre andAnganwari Centers were alsoinspected by the designatedofficers.

SAMBA: DistrictDevelopment Commissioner,Sushma Chauhan, conveneda meeting with the districtofficers to review the prepa-rations for 3rdPhase of 'Backto Village' programme com-mencing tomorrow.

The meeting was attendedby Additional DeputyCommissioner Vikas Gupta,Programme Officer, ICDSProject Jyoti Rani Slathia,Assistant CommissionerDevelopment, MuddasirLatif Tasir, Sub DivisionalMagistrate Vijaypur, VijayKumar, besides senior offi-cers of other departmentsand nodal officers of the pro-gramme.

The meeting discussed con-tents and activities to beundertaken during 3rdphaseof the programme by differ-ent departments.

It was informed that 35panchayats of three blocksincluding Samba,Purmandal and Vijaypurwould be covered under the3rd phase of flagship pro-gramme.

In 3rd Phase of the pro-gramme, Principal SecretaryIndustries and CommerceDepartment Navin KumarChoudhary will be the visit-ing officer in PanchayatChajwal of Samba block.

Various other activities likenukkad natak, games, inau-guration of wells, toilets,playgrounds, farmers orient-ed programmes, gram sabhasare also the part of the pro-gramme, the meeting wasfurther informed.

UDHAMPUR: DuringDay 6 of the Back to Villageinitiative, visiting officerscovered 112 GramPanchayats out of the total115 panchayats being takenup in the district underPhase 2 of the initiative.

Under the ambit of thisextensive exercise, severalactivities were conducted inseveral panchayats includingGram Panchayats; inspec-tions of public infrastructure,schools and ration depots;Anganwadi centers and midday meals in schools, planta-tion and cleanliness drivesamong others.

Other activities includingdistribution of soil healthcards, job cards, KCCs, inau-

guration of PMAY houses &play fields, programmes ondrug de-addiction, constitu-tion of social audit commit-tees also took place duringthe day.

Financial CommissionerRevenue, Dr Pawan Kotwalduring his visit to PanchayatUpper Meer Block Panchariheld interactions with localsand educated them on impor-tance of de-worming of chil-dren, proper hand washingand maintaining basichygiene in the village and dayto day activities. He alsourged PRI members toundertake efforts for preser-vation of water bodies.

Meanwhile, DeputyCommissioner Dr PiyushSingla took extensive tour ofvarious panchayats of thedistrict to review and moni-tor the execution of B2V pro-gramme.

Besides, other officers alsovisited panchayats underB2V including DirectorTechnical Education Dr RaviShankar who visited pan-chayat Chani Tehsil Majalta,Director Tourism JammuOP Bhagat who visitedPanchayat Dalsar andDirector HorticultureJammu Raj Kumar Katochwho visited PanchayatMansar.

REASI: As part of theBack to Village initiative,Principal Secretary,HU&DD, Dheeraj Gupta,distributed Pension PaymentOrders among the beneficiar-ies of Sirakotla Panchayat inblock Panthal.

Meanwhile, AdditionalCommissioner State Tax,Praduman Krishan Bhat,distributed Pension PaymentOrders among the beneficiar-ies at Kotli Bajalian in blockKatra and AD Planning,SRLM (UMEED) Jammu,Harish Chander, distributedPension Payment Ordersamong the beneficiaries atAkhli Buttan, in block Katra.

POONCH: Day 6 of "Backto Village" program wit-nessed mega Gram Sabhaswith extensive interactions,deliberations among thePRIs, government func-tionaries and the locals onwelfare and developmentconcerns of 58 Panchayats ofthe district with the visitingofficers assessing the griev-ances and development needsand the potential as well ofthe area.

During the Gram Sabahs,the designated officers wereapprised of several issues bythe people which inter aliaincluded improvement of linkroads in villages, ugradationof schools, water supplypipes, Bank Branch, trans-formers and others.

DC Poonch Rahul Yadavvisited several panchayats insub division Mendhar includ-ing Mankote lower, Uchaad,Uchaad Uper, Kotan Kandi ,Dhargloon Middle andreviewed the implementationof Back to Village pro-gramme and interacted withthe visiting officers and peo-ple of panchayats.

Secretary Science andTechnology Department,Shafiq Ahmed on his secondday in panchayat Harni con-ducted Gram Sabha andinteracted with the people.He reviewed various schemesof different departments.

and ADC also visited variouspanchayats of DaliUdhyanpur, Bhagwah,Gundna, Bhaderwah andThathri blocks and assessedthe implementation of theprogramme.

RAMBAN: On day two ofthird phase of 'Back toVillage' initiative, DeputyCommissioner, Ramban,Showkat Aijaz Bhat visitedvarious panchyats of Ramsooand Ukhral blocks of the dis-trict and assessed the imple-mentation of the initiative.

NeelBatoo, Sujmatana, Kote,Changloo, Bohardar,Gugwani, Kanhal and Inyarpeople apprised the DC oftheir demands and problemsincluding restoration andupgradation of Water andpower supply schemes, sanc-tion new water supplyschemes, shortage of medicalstaff in health centres, irregu-larity in old age pensions,blacktopping of roads, sanc-tion of more PMAY houses,inclusion of left out familiesin Ayushman Bharat, andPM- Kissan Yojana etc.

DC redressed most of high-lighted issues on the spot anddirected the officers to lookinto other projected issues fortimely redressal. He askedthe Tehsildars to ensure pres-ence of Patwaris in theirrespective halqas for publicconvenience.

KISHTWAR: Back toVillage" programme in all 136panchayats of DistrictKishtwar culminated withextensive interactions, multi-farious activities, cleanlinessand plantation drives, inau-gurations, Gram Sabhas,public feedback and sugges-tion besides inspections ofschools, AW centers, health-care centers and other gov-ernment institutions.

District DevelopmentCommissioner, Angrez SinghRana, visited PanchyatAffani, Kundal and Atholi ofBlock Paddar and interactedwith the PRIs, villagers andvisiting officers to assess theactivities carried out underthe ambitious programme.

STATE TIMES NEWSSARTHAL: Confidentabout ability of the cadre,the JKPCC Vice President,Ghulam Mohammad Saroorisaid that a duty has castupon each worker, even inthe remotest corner of thestate, to gear up for anypolitical eventuality.

Addressing a meeting atSarthal area, Saroori saidtime has come when thecadre should appreciate

their designated role andreach out to the people byenhancing mass contact out-reach, identify their prob-lems and seek their resolu-tion at appropriate levels.

Urged the party cadre tolaunch a vast contact pro-gramme and reach out tothe masses, Saroori onTuesday said political work-er must always remain pre-pared for electoral battle,more so, when the political

system in the state is unsta-ble.

Saroori said Congress isthe only party with presencein nook and corner of thestate. Saroori asked theparty functionaries to closetheir ranks and remain in astate of readiness.
