We do a “failure analysis” on all spindles to isolate and determine
the reason it failed.
ANALYSIS
4We replace or recondition parts to OEM
specs to ensure ‘like new’ operating performance. Housings are sleeved and
machined, shafts are chromed and reground, and then all spindle components are checked for balance. Bearings and seals are replaced,
and motors are tested and rewound.
REPLACEMENT
2We inspect all components for any signs of wear, improper fit and size.
This includes: bearing journals, bores, shoulders, shafts, caps,
bushings, and spacers.
INSPECTION 3We “firm price” our rebuilds, free of
charge, and without obligation. Once approved, work is started immediately. If you decide not to have Setco rebuild
your spindle, we promptly return it to you.

written 12-month warranty.
5We reassemble your spindle,
precision balance and run-in under controlled conditions. We also
collect signature data and record it for future reference.

The most common spindle failure is caused by bearing failure due to contaminations from coolant ingress, condensation,
contamination, or chip damage. Contamination enters the spindle because the spindle seal failed. The Setco AirShield has eliminated
spindle failure due to bearing contamination and proven itself as the best and most reliable spindle seal in the industry and proven by
extensive testing over 10 years without a single failure attributable to the AirShield performance.
The patented and patent pending AirShield3 design is the only spindle seal that offers both dynamic and static protection for 100% elimination
of coolant ingress and spindle contamination. This seal configuration is designed for tight quarter new spindle applications and a perfect retrofit seal
for existing spindles that have recurring bearing contamination problems.
The AirShield3 is available in a wide variety of standard sizes, ranging from 25mm to 250mm inside diameter (.98” to 9.8” I.D.). Best of all, the AirShield3 has
