    A STRONG VOICE ON SPEEDINGSarah was nominated for a national award for her work on addressingspeeding issues. She was nominated by a national campaign organisationon 20 mph limits, who said of her impact:

    Success has come firstly with Lewes Council agreeing an unanimousmotion on 20mph limits. Also in the overwhelming support of the Lib DemNational Conference to adopting 20mph limits as National Policy.Birmingham will go 20mph limited as a result of Sarah Osbornes NationalMotion. Many councillors are now increasingly campaigning on road speedsacross the country and including it in their manifestos and this is due to hersuccesses.

    FIGHTING FOR SAFE ROUTESTO SCHOOL

    Sarah has taken a local fight for the restoration of a school bus anddeveloped it into a national campaign to save school transport.

    Her call to ensure all children have a safe route to school has the support ofteaching unions, charities, anti-poverty campaigners, cross party MPs,Councillors and parents from all over the country.

    She got national media coverage, cross party parliamentary support a EDM,a Westminster Hall debate and finally promised changes to guidance fromgovernment.

    AN EFFECTIVE, LOCAL COUNCILLORSarah has served as member for Plumpton,Streat, East Chiltington & St John (Without)on Lewes District Council for 8 years.

    Year award for her work asChair of Lewes DistrictCouncils ScrutinyCommittee.

    She is currently Leader of the LiberalDemocrat group at LDC. In that role, shehas got budget amendments accepted tobuild more council houses, and get moneyfor flood protection and community groups.
