Sarah Osborne For Environment, Economy, Housing & Transport Board A STRONG VOICE ON SPEEDING Sarah was nominated for a national award for her work on addressing speeding issues. She was nominated by a national campaign organisation on 20 mph limits, who said of her impact: “Success has come firstly with Lewes Council agreeing an unanimous motion on 20mph limits. Also in the overwhelming support of the Lib Dem National Conference to adopting 20mph limits as National Policy. Birmingham will go 20mph limited as a result of Sarah Osborne’s National Motion. Many councillors are now increasingly campaigning on road speeds across the country and including it in their manifestos and this is due to her successes.” FIGHTING FOR SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL Sarah has taken a local fight for the restoration of a school bus and developed it into a national campaign to save school transport. Her call to ensure all children have a safe route to school has the support of teaching unions, charities, anti-poverty campaigners, cross party MPs, Councillors and parents from all over the country. She got national media coverage, cross party parliamentary support a EDM, a Westminster Hall debate and finally promised changes to guidance from government.
