Materials/Items Needed:
Make Thanksgiving Meal Bags for Granada Primary School Description: Assemble Thanksgiving Meal Bags with non-perishable Thanksgiving food items (listed in left column) and a handmade Thanksgiving card. These bags will be given to families with children at Granada Primary School, a Phoenix elementary school with a large percentage of students living below poverty level.
Instructions: • Purchase and/or collect needed non-perishable
Thanksgiving food items (left column). The more bags that are made, the more needy families we can help!
• Decorate the bags with crayons, stickers, markers, etc. • Assemble the bags by putting one of each of the items
in each bag • The kids can make Thanksgiving cards to include in the
bags if they’d like. • Once completed, email Families Giving Back at
[email protected] to arrange for delivery. All bags must be completed and delivered by Friday, November 14th.
• Boxed Stuffing • Boxed cake and/or
cornbread • Canned vegetables • Canned gravy or gravy mix • Instant mashed potatoes • $15 grocery gift cards to be
used for turkey • Plain paper bags • Markers, crayons, stickers
etc. to decorate bags and make Thanksgiving cards
• Paper for cards
Community Volunteer Project
Get Your Community Involved! * Host a neighborhood Thanksgiving food drive to collect the items needed. Your kids can distribute and pick up donations on a date you determine. Go to our website for a flyer template you can print & customize!!!* Get your kids' schools involved.! Ask if they will allow you to put a collection bin at school and put up flyers your kids make.!!* Are your kids in school groups, church groups, sports teams or Girl Scouts/Boy Scouts? Have the group bring food items to a meeting/practice and make bags as a group!!!* Collect food items at your office!!
