Session learning objectives Students will be able to define and
describe the features of Cardiff city, the capital of Wales, from the perspective of tourism.
Students will be able to identify and explain three commonly appearing features from the pictures that make Cardiff a tourism destination.
Students will learn to relate and examine similar business activities relevant to the features and list one other tourist destinations of similar nature.
Basics of Cardiff Capital of Wales Largest city in Wales and the tenth largest city in
the UK Population 346,100 (2011) 18.3 million visitors in 2010.
In 2011, Cardiff was ranked sixth in the world in National Geographic's alternative tourist destinations.the new £675m St David's shopping centre has helped it become the third most popular retail destination in the UK.
