Conserved LandsBrook Trout Present

Self-sustaining populations of wild brook troutare present in many of Vermont's streams andrivers, but they are most abundant in stream reaches with cold water, deep pools, and overheadcover, such as downed trees. Because of this, anglers can often find better habitat, better fishing, and better scenery deeper in the wilderness thanat road-side streams. Vermont's conserved lands represent only a small proportion of the forested lands in the Green Mountain State, but are great places to start when looking for these off-road opportunities. All of Vermont's waterways are open to public access, but please be respectful of private landowners.
