WED Determiners TASKS Task 1 = LOCATE! Copy the sentence into your books. Find the DETERMINER (or determiners!) in each and CIRCLE it (let’s use Green Pen!)
For example: ‘Their story was rather boring to read.’ = ‘Their story was rather boring to read.’
IF TIME: try some of these more challenging examples (ahem… determinerS!):
Task 2 = INPUT! This time, look at the given LIST of determiners… copy the sentences with GAPS and PUT IN the ‘best choice’ of determiner, then CIRCLE it.
For Example: “I had best do _____ practice on the guitar… I have a performance next week!” (SOME)
Task 3 = CREATE! This time, using the list of DETERMINERS given below, create your OWN sentences about the images, using AS MANY DETERMINERS AS YOU CAN! How many can you use in a sentence?
For Example: “Which chocolate bar do I find the most delicious? It would no less a bar than my favourite ‘Toffee Crisp’, those scrumptious snacks that I could eat so many of, in one sitting!” (=8!)
EXT: Using the determiner LIST in Task 3, can you create a table (like the one below) and
put each determiner in the correct TYPE column?
