Charles’s Law
Describe a situation (to the person sitting next to
you) where you tried harder and got more.
Charles’s Law
Here is my example:Studying Time (independent variable)Quiz Scores (dependent variable)
Now write down yours!

Charles’s Law
This is a proportional relationship.
Proportional means if you increase one the other
will increase.
Charles’s Law
Volume = The amount of space something takes.
Temperature = How much energy something has.
Do you think they are proportional for a gas?
Discuss it with the person sitting next to you!
Charles’s Law
Draw a graph of Volume vs. Temperature for a
gas. Temperature will be our independent
variable.Volume will be our dependent variable.

Mr. Rana will now reveal the answer!
Something * V = T
Boyle’s Law
Describe a situation (to the person sitting next to
you) where you tried harder and got less.
Boyle’s Law
Here is my example:Student Doing Too Much (independent
variable)Grade (dependent variable)
Now write down yours!
Boyle’s Law
This is an inversely proportional relationship.
Inversely Proportional means if you increase one the other will decrease.
Boyle’s Law
Volume = The amount of space something takes.
Pressure = How hard something pushes at you.
Do you think they are proportional or inversely
proportional for a gas?Discuss it with the person sitting next to
you!
Boyle’s Law
Draw a graph of Volume vs. Pressure for a gas. Pressure will be our independent variable.Volume will be our dependent variable.
