http://teutonictranslations.net/Dear friends of the Wolfschmiede Manufaktur, most people think a goldsmith’s life looks something like this:Sitting solitary in a remote workshop, goldsmiths forge precious metals and magnificent gemstones into exquisite jewelry for their demanding clients, all the while worrying over quality and condition of their treasured jewels.
Even we as master goldsmiths were unaware that the art and craft of goldsmithing could go hand in hand with experiencing the joys of international travel and open-minded encounters with other cultures and languages. And yet, after more than 30 years of meticulously designing and creating fine handcrafted jewelry, fate elected to throw open the doors to the world for these two goldsmiths. Today, we are able to relish the well-loved art of forging in the serene, natural setting of our home and workshop while also actively participating in the national and international jewelry trade. 2017 was a wonderful year that brought us much joy and satisfaction and we cannot wait to see what 2018 holds in store! We hope you enjoy reading about us and our work and look forward to letting you inspire our future projects.
Welcome to the world of Wolfschmiede! Sandra Giner and Wulf Schroller

Our customer writes:
I had some old jewelry I was no longer wearing and wanted it fashioned into
a beautiful handmade ring. After all, these objects contained memories from
my life and I wanted a handcrafted piece made with these precious materials.
Two unsuccessful attempts already lay behind me. The first time, the piece was
just too heavy. On the second try, I received nothing more than a machined
ring with the stone settings cut into the ring. But my life has never fit the mold.
This ring had to reflect my memories, and these results didn’t remotely do
them justice.
When I discovered your booth at the fair, I decided to give it one final go.
“Wolfschmiede” (which translates to “Wolf Forge”) – the name itself had a
unique ring to it and gave my idea another opportunity.
The lovingly handcrafted, unique pieces you displayed spoke directly to my
soul. I could clearly see that every one of these rings reflected the character of
the wearer. This was what I wanted.
So I put everything together: The old ring, my ideas and various suggestions.
I placed an order with the universe and sent it all off to Wolfschmiede, who
handcrafted my Ring of Life from many layers of gold, making it much
lighter than my first attempt.
Thank you, Sandra!

What, you might ask, brings a small, boutique German goldsmith like
Wolfschmiede to Tucson, Arizona?
Tucson: On the hunt
The answer is simple: We received the right advice at the right time. Acting on the advice of a dear friend in the gemstone industry, we decided to apply for one of the few booths that occasionally become available at the „Gem and Jewelry Exchange“ (GJX) and were immediately accepted. This trade show, which exclusively caters to industry professionals, attracts exhibitors and visitors from the US and all over the world. Together, the wares and the visitors make for an extremely inspiring atmosphere – Tucson never fails to make us happy!
Gemstones, diamonds, opals, pearls, minerals and fossils are traded here. This is why purchasers from leading universities and galleries attend GJX. Our unique products allowed us to quickly establish all the right contacts and begin successfully selling to the US market.
Experiencing the trade with minerals and gemstones firsthand is a phenomenal experience. Exchanging ideas with gemstone dealers and peers provides deep insights into the world of gems as well as the world at large. Naturally, we are also always on the hunt for a shimmering bounty of gemstones to take home.
But the best thing is that Tucson has become a home away from home to us.The mild January weather makes life there special. Hiking the magnificent Saguaro Desert is a wonderfully inspiring experience for us as jewelry artists… although it’s a good idea to ask about predators at the Desert Museum first to make sure the hunter does not become the hunted!

Rays of sunshine
Braxi in H. writes:
Every morning at daybreak, rays of sunshine fall through the
branches of the trees in our much-loved yard.
As day replaces night, I look forward to what lies ahead.
I consider myself extraordinarily lucky
to be able to wear this jewelry.
It is as unique as the sun.
I simply cannot believe my luck!
Thank you!
Rays of sunshineThis project challenged us to
depict delicate rays of sunshine
embedded in a solidly constructed
piece of sun-themed jewelry.
The hub at the center picks up the golden
thread while also serving as the setting
for the blue sapphires.
The outer wire picks up the thread and
outlines the sun.
The extremely technical implementation
of this theme recedes into the
background when viewed as a whole.
The top elements are almost coarse in
structure and contrast with the finely
wrought sun disks.

We make our home in an ancient farmhouse built in the middle of the 18th century. While it needs some renovation, the island-like setting with a stream that forks in front of the house is nothing short of magical.
Wolfschmiede custom-designs and develops each and every piece of jewelry based on your input and design preferences. You can also freely choose the jewels and materials you prefer for all of our one-of-a-kind pieces. This process allows us to develop custom-made, high-end collections of artisan jewelry. We exclusively create unique pieces of wearable art made by master craftsmen ‑ a unique selling point that would benefit any gallery.
We have truly found the best possible place to work as a goldsmith. With an unsurpassed view of nature and the sparkling stream in the background, this is exactly the contemplative atmosphere a goldsmith needs to create complex works of art that require focus, dedication and intense concentration.
We look forward to welcoming you here!

Our customer writes:Hello Ms Giner, here is a picture of the beach where my husband found the shark tooth. Because it was my birthday and the tooth was so perfect, we wanted to have it made into a pendant on a chain.
We also hoped the piece would reflect the provenance of the tooth with the colors and the easygoing charm of the Caribbean. Wolfschmiede understood exactly what I wanted and created the perfect piece. The amulet is truly one of a kind in every sense of the word.
A shark in the stream?
In our area, areas of deep water ponding in a stream are called “Gumpen”.
Our address “Am Gumpen” hints at the fact that there is room for big fish here.
We are glad, however, that sharks are not a native species!
This makes it even more exciting to work on creating a necklace with a sparkling white,
picture-perfect shark tooth.
In order to reflect the colors of the Caribbean without resorting to the typical (and
somewhat tacky) choice of a turquoise, we instead looked at the entire color palette of our gemstones, ranging from green to
white, yellow, blue and turquoise, in order to find an unusual, slightly offbeat color
combination that would evoke the impression of the Caribbean.
Working hand in hand with our customer, we settled on a tourmaline
with a stunning color gradient from blue-green to white and an opal
with a high turquoise content and a red/green/yellow shimmer.
The result is a complex, yet lightweight and mobile pendant.

As master craftsmen with more than 30 years of experience forging jewelry, we love creating complete works of jewelry art without recourse to convenient accessories like premade retail settings, ring blanks, wax models etc.
While the work is labor-intensive and demanding, this is the only way to achieve the perfect shade of gold and the right alloys to create
perfectly matched pieces of jewelry. Forging the metal makes it denser and gives it an incomparable hardness. The surface created this way allows for a perfectly polished finish.
Gallery and museum representatives are always welcome. Since we do not operate a storefront, we work strictly on an appointment basis. Wolfschmiede is centrally located and easy to reach: Frankfurt
