Thierry Bourdoncle, the owner, set his sights on two addresses in Megève, la Brasserie Centrale and Deli’s Corner and thereby added a first address in the mountain to his bulging address book composed notably of Bréhant, Mabillon and the famous Sénéquier in Saint-Tropez. The place is authentic, warm and timeless, the prices affordable and open eight months of the year.

JULIE TRAVADON

A MEGÈVE NATIVE IN THE RACE

1VThis year again, Megève hosts the biggest and the world’s most diffi cult sled dog race. In a magical atmosphere, the mushers travel 30 km from the heart of the villageto the destination of Mont d’Arbois against the backdropof Mont Blanc.

For this competition, around twenty of the best mushers, men and women, from seven nations travel more than 1,000 km and ascend to the height of more than 30,000 metres across the Savoie and the Haute-Savoie.

A MEGÈVE NATIVE IN THE RACE

In 1999 in Megève, Philippe Guilhem, a golf enthusiast and mountain junkie, created a unique concept: golf practice in a ski resort. Playing golf on a snow-covered course became popular very quickly. This unique event, the Winter Golf Cup has now become an unmissable event inthe world of golf. Due to the growing success, the concept has developed among other prestigious destinations such as Val d’Isère and Crans-Montana.

participated for the fi rst time last year in the Grande Odyssée.

This young prodigy obtained her fi rst title of “adult” French

champion at the age of 8 and is none other than the daughter

of Isabelle Travadon who has participated 10 times in this

great race. Julie should be present at this year’s event!

17IV EVENTS

After the success of 2015, Megève has once again been entrusted with the organisation of the finals of the World Cup of mogul skiing and ski cross.

On the piste of the downhill stadium of the Cote 2000, the show promises to be spectacular:the biggest names on the circuit will clash on a piste 1,200 m long and some 24 modules.

The organisation is challenging because it demands the combination of technical and meteorological factors, since each module requires between 1,000 and 5,000 m3 of snow.

The Megève native Anthony Benna, the 2015 world champion, will partake here in his last race of the World Cup. A very emotional moment in perspective!
