About the Department (Brief Profile of the department)
The department of Telecommunication Engineering was established in the year 1991. The department offers UG program in Telecommunication
Engineering, M Tech in Digital Communication & Networking, M Sc (Engineering) and Ph.D programs by research. The UG program is under
autonomous scheme under Visvesvaraya Technological University since 2010 and PG program M. Tech in Digital Communication and
Networking obtained autonomous status since 2016. The department Research & Development centre is recognised by Visvesvaraya
Technological University. Currently, the department is working on AICTE and VGST sponsored projects. The department is having well
qualified, experienced and doctorate faculty members. The department laboratories are equipped with the state of the art equipments and
software tools. The UG has got accredited by NBA from 2016 to 2019 and extended from 2019 to 2022. The PG has got accredited by NBA
from 2017 to 2019 and is expecting NBA visit for one more year extension.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)
PEO 1: Graduates will have sound knowledge of Telecommunication – Core and Elective Courses offered to enable them to have Successful
Technical Careers.
PEO 2: Graduates will imbibe leadership qualities to evolve as Team Leaders/Managers in Communication, allied fields and also to execute the
Projects successfully.
PEO 3: Graduates will exhibit qualities of a Telecommunication Engineer with Social Consciousness and Professional norms and Ethics.
PEO 4: Graduates will pursue Higher Education and carry out Research that would lead to Innovation and also to satisfy all the stakeholders.

PSO1: Analyze, Design and Implement emerging Telecommunications systems using knowledge of Core, Elective and Inter disciplinary
subjects.
PSO2: Intense understanding of fundamental topics and to acquaint them with various upcoming and challenging problems relevant to the
industry.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)
PO1: Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of basic Engineering sciences and core Engineering subjects.
PO2: Graduates will demonstrate an ability to identify, and solve Communication and Electronic design engineering problems.
PO3: Graduate will conduct multidisciplinary laboratory experiments and design Linear and non-linear Components for Telecommunication and
electronic systems.
PO4: Graduates will design and simulate analog and digital system modules with the usage of latest modern hardware and software tools.
PO5: Graduates will understand the need and impact of telecommunication Engineering concepts and solutions in a Global and societal context.
PO6: Graduates will acquire the need to apply Professional Engineering ethics and norms to understand and deliver Telecommunication
solutions.
PO7: Graduates will exhibit good Communication skills both in presentation and documentation.
