Research Interests

The relationships between classical and quantum nonlinear optics, including the ability to benchmark the photon pair generation efficiency of a given integrated device based on the results of, often simpler, classical experiments performed on the same device, as well how to make these relationships simpler and more transparent (see Journal Articles [25], [23], [14], [12], [10], [7])

Tailoring the correlations of generated photon pairs through photon source engineering, such as group velocity and group velocity dispersion control, quasi-phase-matching, or tuning the strength of coupling to a cavity-like structure, and proper pump pulse spectrum selection (see Journal Articles [35], [33], [32], [31], [16], [11], [8], [6], [4], [1])

Detailed modeling of existing integrated photon pair sources, including periodically poled fibers, chalcogenide channel waveguides, Bragg reflection waveguides, and silicon nitride microring resonators (see Journal Articles [34], [29], [28], [25], [21], [19], [18], [13], [9], [3])

Correctly accounting for (i.e. including or excluding) photon scattering loss, self- and cross-phase modulation, spectral filtering, detector dark counts, and two-photon absorption in integrated quantum optical experiments (see Journal Articles [37], [36], [23], [22], [17])
