Innovation and sustainability are the two cornerstones of any modern busi-
ness. As a software manufacturer, we are faced daily with the challenge of
developing future-ready solutions for the individual needs of our customers,
of absorbing what we have learnt in the past and of making best practice
flow into our future projects. We are well aware of the value of our long-time
customers and employees.
Simon Thomas - Managing Director
Mathias Thomas - Managing Director
And the effects of that philosophy can be seen in our working environment.
Our modern TUP campus at Stutensee is on the one hand an incubator in
which pioneering, creative ideas begin their lives and on the other, a passive
house standards-certified building that will be our home for generations to
come. Only if our employees feel comfortable in their workplaces and can
see long-term prospects for their future will we achieve the atmosphere that
we need to achieve lasting success.

TUP.WMS is at the core of our TUP portfolio and allows the imple-
mentation of customised, process-oriented WMS system to modern-
ise an existing warehouse or a solution for a new one. TUP will work
closely with you to develop the solution you need with TUP.WMS
– for small, manually operated warehouses or for large, international
distribution centres.
Many of the basic processes in a state-of-the-art warehouse or dis-
tribution centre are similar – goods are delivered, stored, picked,
packed and are finally dispatched to their recipients. TUP has been
working on perfecting these processes in close collaboration with
our customers for more than 35 years. Each new project benefits
from years of accumulated know-how and best-practice experience.
Nevertheless, each customer is unique, has their own processes,
philosophy and expectations. As a software manufacturer, TUP
knows how identify and implement long-term customer ideas and
objectives. TUP.WMS is not a standard product in the conventional
sense – it is a customisable solution that can be adapted to include
specific needs and requirements.

conveyance and logistics landscape in real time. TUP.MFC always
makes decisions based on available system resources.
A modern logistics centre combines a multitude of heterogeneous
conveyance and warehouse technologies – from automated con-
veyor technology to forklifts and autonomous transport vehicles,
right down to fully automated, high-performance high-rack techno-
logy. Cross-system integration is needed for all these components to
function with maximum efficiency.
TUP.MFC uses the conveyance infrastructure stored in the system

TUP.WLDWarehouse Logistic Dashboard
» Graphic visualisation of relevant data
» Realtime monitoring of KPIs
» Simplified data visualisation for improved controlling
and vulnerability analysis
» Mobile monitoring via a smartphone app
» Hybrid dashboards for the visualisation of
cross-departmental information
The benefits of TUP.WLD at a glance:
1819
The TUP.WLD dashboard visualises current information from all
running logistics processes, which means that a system supervisor
can respond appropriately. Resource allocations can be changed or
expanded and organisational measures can be initialised to ensure
that daily targets are met. Resources include personnel, worksta-
tions and technical systems or end devices needed to complete
specific operations.
Distribution centres deal with complex logistics processes, limited
resources and large amounts of information daily. Gleaning reliable
insights regarding needs-appropriate resource utilisation from the
mass of data and on-site operations in a logistics venture can be a
daunting challenge for many logistics managers – especially in light
of often short fulfilment times.
It is in this context a logistics dashboard for the control and monitor-
ing of logistics processes that becomes increasingly important in the
world of distribution and logistics. Process mapping, KPI monitoring
and the visualisation of irregularities are among the key responsi-
bilities faced by logistics managers in a warehouse environment in
addition to their routine daily tasks.

What sets our software apart:
After more than 35 years of experience in intra-logistics, we have
learnt that many projects are similar, but none are the same. We un-
derstand software development as a means to developing a custom
software solution for each customer. A logistics information system
must be able to handle any and all customer processes. This is the
idea that drives us, because no two starting situations or objectives
are ever the same.
We want our customer relationships to be sustainable and long-
term, which is why we have based our work on a robust and open
architecture since 1997. We support our business partners in their
development work and adopt a joint approach to create solutions for
new market requirements and business structures. That is why the
core of our project teams and customer contacts remain unchanged
for the duration of each project.
More than 100 TUP developers focus on projecting the innovative
power of our customer and his goals on the further development of
our software. Stability, usability and the deployment of state-of-the-
art technologies are central to our work.

The key to creating an effective intra-logistic solution is to know
every detail of the customer’s requirements. As a first step, TUP
hosts various workshops to discuss compliance with processes and
requirements. In these workshops, technology options and process
optimisations are considered and jointly evaluated. All possible var-
iants are checked for economic viability and the conservation of
resources.
Each company has its own structures and processes that define its
character and underpin its business success. As a software manu-
facturer, TUP plans IT systems holistically and in harmony with the
business processes that make each of our customers unique. Expe-
rience has shown that IT specifications and requirements can only
be defined and customised, hard and software solutions developed
on the basis of the specific business infrastructure and the specific
requirements of the customer.

Here is how you benefit from our know-how:
ImplementationCreating a harmonised system
An intra-logistics project contains many elements that must be
coordinated and monitored. These include planning, software de-
velopment, hardware delivery and configuration, structural changes,
conveyance and warehousing technologies, peripherals, auxiliary
equipment, personnel and more. And finally, all the components
must be interlinked to form a harmonised system.
TUP’s project managers can look back on many years of interdiscip-
linary experience in managing projects of various sizes and levels of
complexity. These experts have perfected their methods of handling
all aspects, tools and elements for efficient project implementation.
On request, TUP project teams will act as mediators between all
project stakeholders and have plenty of experience in dealing with
suppliers, contractors and IT system engineers. TUP customers can
rely on a one-stop contact, who keeps them informed at all times.
All warehouse management systems form part of an extensive soft-
ware environment - be it a greenfield project or an upgrade wit-
hin a live system. Sustainable business success depends on quick
and loss-free communication with peripheral IT systems, e.g. ERP,
customs or shipping systems. The implementation of relevant inter-
faces is a core competence of our development team.

ModernisationThe inexpensive alternative to a brand new intra-logistics system
New business areas, changes to order volumes, new strategic di-
rections; the reasons for taking a hard look at an existing logistics
infrastructure and deciding to reorganise it are manifold. One of the
most common errors in the thinking of business management is:
“Never change a running system”.
It often turns out to be a big mistake to wait until action is urgently
needed, because such an approach leaves no scope to make fully
thought-out, long-term strategic decisions. On top of that, expiring
support service contracts and reductions in availability of replace-
ment parts also represent a risk to operations. Yet older systems
often still contain a lot of potential. A modernisation or reorganisation
of an existing system is often the most economical alternative to a
completely new one.
Targeted measures can inexpensively adjust the performance of an
already running system to the demands of day-to-day operations.
Often a very modest modification in the mechanisms can produce a
substantial improvement in overall performance. It is also possible
to integrate extended functionalities into existing systems. The costs
of such steps can pay for themselves very quickly through reduced
servicing costs and increased throughput.
The long experience of TUP project teams equips them to recognise
unused potential. At the same time, they are always up-to-date in
terms of the technologies available for such modernisation solutions.
» Targeted modifications can significantly improve
the performance of an existing system
» Modernisation is less expensive than a new
intra-logistics system
» Risks are minimised a current software system
» Legacy systems can be integrated
» It is possible to changeover to the new system
without any break in operations, avoiding any need
for downtime
A few reasons why the option of modernisation is worth considering:

» Remote maintenance with fast response times
» Service provided by qualified members of the project team
Overview of TUP service:
After commissioning, a new system must prove its worth in day-to-
day operations. To ensure that go-live runs smoothly, the challenge
of changing over from test to production phase is one of the biggest
challenges of any intra-logistics project. At this stage of a project,
TUP uses a balanced mix of support and training, including the use
of change management, test operations, test runs and fall-back
strategies in addition to staff training.
We draw up a tailor-made support design as early as the planning
stage, offering the customer the right level of service for its business
requirements both during initial operation and in the long term. The
continuous involvement of all stakeholders in the process and sui-
table fall-back strategies at critical points will reduce the response
time for improvement measures and allows an effective scheme for
gathering suggestions for modifications.
Long-term maintenance of the system is generally assigned to the
team that the customer has got to know and value over the course
of the initial project. In case of a service requirement, the customer
is not dealt with by a call centre agent, but by a qualified member
of the service team with in-depth knowledge of on-site conditions.

The following are among the services provided by TUP support regarding IT hardware:
IT projects and their associated IT infrastructure require the fol-
lowing basic attributes: Performance, scalability and of course an
appropriate level of security. These three pillars are represented in
the “Peace of Mind” package, which also includes documentation,
service and support. For many years now, well-known business
customers have relied on TUP’s know-how in hardware and IT in-
frastructure.
The project reach and the services associated with it are always ad-
justed to fit the customer’s processes precisely, fully considering and
integrating any existing systems as needed (in e.g. retrofit projects).
The basic principle: Hardware and IT environment requirements are
defined in dialogue with the customer and within the framework
conditions of the intra-logistics solution.
TUP support is your reliable partner in after-sales service, too. TUP
customers also have second and third level support available to
them on call outside regular business hours – 24/7 if needed. The
integration of services from the hardware supplier is another TUP
service, which means that customers will have a one-stop contact,
who will deal with any issues and new hardware purchases.
