KING KONG: TOTAL FILM ANALYSISThe top of the magazine is advertising other films included in the magazine. This helps the magazine appeal to a wide target audience. The yellow stars separate each film and stand out

The title of the magazine is a recognisable logo for audiences which allows easy recognition of the brand. It is bold and grabs audiences attention. The date and price are also below.

The main image of the magazine is large to draw audiences attention. The pose of the characters represents the drama genre as they are embracing each other which makes it look like something has happened. Their gaze also makes the audience feel involved as it is direct.

The bold, yellow writing stands out and is dramatic. It indicates the main article of the magazine to entice audiences.

The word ‘preview’ makes the audience feel on the inside. The use of ‘starring’ is a play on words as it is a film magazine. Gives the audience a preview to other features.

The barcode is a conventional feature of magazines. It usually shows the price but this is not the case on this cover.

The yellow titles stand out to give the audience more information about the features involved in the magazine. The white information gives them more information from the title. The titles are short and funny the grab audiences attention.

THE SOCIAL NETWORK: TOTAL FILM ANALYSISThis magazine is a special edition. Shows that above the masthead.

The masthead has the recognisable branding but it has been changed for the guide. It is made up of different profile pictures to fit into the story of ‘The Social Network’

The main image is of the protagonist. Similarly to the rest of the cover, his face is made up of a variety of profile pictures. It is an exciting way to show the protagonist and will entice audiences in. He looks serious which helps to represent the drama genre

In the title the issue number, price and date is shown. This allows users to see if the magazine is up to date. Usually the price is on the barcode but it seems common for Total Film to put the price on the title.

The small writing in the right hand corner tells audiences this is a special edition cover. It was created by the Total Film subscribers pictures. It says ‘(are you on here?)’ to entice audiences.

The bold, white writing shows the audience what the magazine is about. ‘Get Connected’ fits into the theme of the film and the cover line is short and catchy to entice audiences into reading it.

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: TOTAL FILM ANALYSISThe top of the magazine advertises other films that are included in the magazine. This attracts a wider audience. The stars separate each film and the white writing stands out

The mast head again uses the recognisable branding. The white stands out on the background with the red standing out on that.

The cover line is bold and stands out against the blue background. It goes with the image and tells the audience what the film is about. It also says ‘world exclusive’ which makes the audience feel on the inside and like they are receiving insider information.

The features show more information about what the inside of the magazine shows. By giving a brief summary audiences are more inclined to buy it as they want to find out more.

The cover image is of the villain in the Narnia series. Many will recognise this from the book series. She is gazing at the audience which makes them feel intimidated. Her lavish clothing represents her queen character. Her solemn expression helps to represent the drama genre. It is overlapping the mast head but it is assumed audiences will know the title of the magazine.

The date, price and issue number are unclear because of the background image but are in a conventional place so audiences will know where to look

The barcode is a conventional aspect of magazines
