WELCOME IPAD DRC MINING & INFRASTRUCTURE INDABA AND KATANGA MINING WEEK ARE CONVERGING TOWARDS AN UNIQUE MINING PLATFORM IN 2016.
WHAT’S CHANGING? DRC MINING WEEK IS BECOMING THE LARGEST EXPO AND CONFERENCE OFFERING SOLUTIONS FOR IMPROVED EFFICIENCY OF YOUR OPERATIONS IN THE DRC!
WELCOME TO DRC MINING WEEK, THE LARGEST MINING EXPO OF ITS KIND.
Over the last 11 years, iPAD DRC has grown with the mining industry and established its footprint in the DRC and the Copperbelt, engaging with the government and key stakeholders. Growing the iPAD family with Katanga Mining Week, we realised that the necessary “face-to-face” with key operators, exploration companies, EPCs and services providers was crucial to improve the quality of mining operations on site.
We believe that providing an open dialogue between government, mining operators and technologies services providers will strengthen productivity within daily operations in the region.
This year for the first time, we welcome the mining experts into a unique platform enhancing your mining investment and operations in the heart of the DRC mining hub.
DRC Mining Week will be bigger, better and benefit from the increased expo, with unlimited outdoor space showcasing equipment, tools and machinery.
Be a game changer and raise your voice to support the DRC as a global mining magnate.
“Rendez-vous” in Lubumbashi from 7 – 10 June 2016!

WEDNESDAY 8 JUNE 2016 - CONFERENCE DAY 1
Opening session: Maintaining sustainable growth & competition in an age of capital austerity
Chairperson: Simon Tuma Waku, Vice President in Charge of Mining, FEC, DRC
09:00 For the past few years, the DRC has been considered a high risk high return destination when it comes to mining investments. Unique in its kind, the DRC has numerous untapped gold, cobalt and high grade copper reserves appealing to substantial investors and mining developers from all over.
Yet, the lack of visibility on the political and financial side hampers the viability of any activities to be developed in the region.
Mine closures, discouraging copper pricing, unstable political climate and hesitant financiers contribute to a constrained environment. Nevertheless, the outstanding growth and production forecast give enough content for mining houses and EPC to “dig” further and find short term solutions to support their activities and keep their heads above water.
What are the requirements to avoid another 2009 crisis and what did we learn from it?
Keynote speakers:• H.E Martin Kabwelulu Labilo, Minister of Mines, DRC• H.E Ernest Gwaboubou, Minister of Industry and Technology
Development, Republic of Cameroon • Claude Polet, President, Chamber of Mines, DRC• Eric Mboma, Managing Director, Standard Bank, DRC• Simon Tuma Waku, Vice president in charge of mining, FEC, DRC
