THE HIPPODROME

The Hippodrome opened in the early 1900s,

here you would have found diving acrobats, tumblers and animals

performing to amazed audiences. It was here that Tchaikovsky’s

Swan Lake received its English première in 1910.

Today you will find a top class restaurant, cocktail bar & lounge,

private dining rooms and a dedicated live entertainment venue;

all set around 3 floors of state of the art Casino Gaming.

In 1958, the original interior was demolished and the

London Hippodrome was converted into the world famous nightclub,

“The Talk of the Town”. International artists including Diana Ross,

Judy Garland, Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones and

Stevie Wonder have all performed in this beautiful building.

In the 1980’s Peter Stringfellow opened his world famous nightclub

frequented by royalty and global stars of stage and screen.

Today, the Hippodrome Casino is owned by British entrepreneurs,

father and son Jimmy and Simon Thomas and operates as a 24 hour Casino.

Hendrick’s £11.50This Scottish small batch distilled gin uses traditional botanicals plus highly unusual Bulgarian rose petals and cucumber, creating a modern adventurous gin. Serve in a long glass with a cool slither of crisp green cucumber.

Fifty Pounds £14.00Shortly after the Gin Act 1736, a family of independent distillers from London came up with an original gin recipe which they named ‘Fifty Pounds’, after the tax and to denote the gin’s smooth high quality. The old recipe, with the secret combination of botanicals and four times distilled alcohol imparts superior, dry elegance to this London gin. An inimitable smoothness with a unique, complex and perfectly balanced taste.

Bloom Gin £11.50The distillery has been producing gin since 1761 and has been in the Greenall family since 1860. A delicate floral gin, enriched by chamomile, pomelo and honeysuckle, served with a lime wedge and lychee.

Sipsmith Gin £12.50Hand crafted in small batches of less than 500 bottles, in London’s first copper still for 190 years. Served long with plenty of ice, a few drops of lemon juice and a lemon wedge.
