Our first casualty of winter weather in fact came last month, when the PTO's annual all-school party had to be postponed. Happily, "Moonlight Over Paris" is now rescheduled for Saturday, March 5, from 6:00 to 10:00pm in the gymnasium. This is an event for the entire family, featuring French food, wine, dancing and activities for the children. It is always a highlight of the year for our community, so let's hope the weather gods will smile on that evening. On Saturday, April 9th, the school will hold a very different, adults-only event. This is our annual fundraising Gala, and this year's party, "Odyssey," will be held aboard a ship that will spend the evening cruising in Boston Harbor. The Gala is not only a wonderful evening of food, drink and entertainment; it is also one of the main sources of financial support for the school, an essential component of the Fund for Excellence. As you probably know, the Fund this year is helping to pay for the extensive renovations of the Matignon Convent, for which we are about to sign a 20- year lease. In fact, our target to start construction work is early April, so the Gala falls at an auspicious moment. Click here to learn more about these two events . So I encourage as many of you as possible to attend both these upcoming events. In the meantime, I want to wish everyone in our community a pleasant break and a Happy Lunar New Year!
