On the 25 April, early next term is ANZAC Day. Students from Drummond Memorial will march to Central Park and be part of the Armidale ANZAC

service. We are excited to take part in this important event with our students to show our respect for those service men and women both past and present. Students are asked to meet teachers in the Kmart carpark off Moore St at 10:15am in full school uniform. The school will hold our ANZAC Day assembly on Wednesday April 26 at 9.20am in the hall. All parents, carers, friends and community members are welcome to attend.

On Friday 7 April at 9:30am, we will be holding our K-2 Easter Hat parade and Easter activities in the K-2 area. K-2 students are encouraged to start making their

Easter hats ready for our parade.

Younger brothers and sisters are welcome to make a hat and join in the parade. I look forward to seeing our students enjoying themselves and having fun. Parents, carers

and friends of our Drummond community are most welcome to attend this parade.

Mrs Crompton will be taking personal leave for the remainder of the term and I will be in the relieving position until the end of term.

This term I have had the pleasure of visiting all K-6 classrooms across the school and feel very proud to be part of Drummond Memorial once again. Our students

continually amaze me with their drive to learn and apply themselves to new tasks. Thank you to our wonderful teaching and non-teaching staff who help our students continually achieve emotional, social and academic success.

This week we are lucky enough to have Gwenda Stanley, an Aboriginal dancer who comes from Moree and belongs to the Corben Gomeroi people attending our

school to perform for our students. The cost for each child is $1 and students need to pay this to attend the performance.

As we draw closer to the end of term don’t forget the Big Breakfast to be held on Tuesday 4 April starting at 8am. This is a great opportunity to come in and share a

meal with your child and catch up with other parents, teachers and friends.

Community Notices The school is happy to advertise some local events and business ventures. However, we do not

necessarily endorse them to you. It is the responsibility of individual parents/caregivers to ensure that they themselves are satisfied with all services offered before they involve their children or themselves.

Live Show – Gwenda Stanley – Aboriginal Dance.

We have been very fortunate to book Gwenda Stanley, an Aboriginal dancer who comes from Moree and belongs to the Corben Gomeroi people. She has been touring Australian schools presenting her show Sharing Culture for over

25 years.

Gwenda delights children of all ages with her natural engaging, gentle manner. Gwenda will use dance, story, artefacts and language to share her unique and

rich Aboriginal culture.
