Did you know you could earncollege credit while you’restill in high school?Gwinnett Technical College’s Dual EnrollmentProgram offers you the best of both worlds –you can finish your high school requirementsand earn college credit at the same time,which puts your college education on thefast track. You’ll save time and money on

college later!

There are lots of options – takeclasses at your high school,online or on the GwinnettTech campus. You can takeyour core college classeswith us… and these creditsare guaranteed to transferto virtually any Georgia pub-lic or private college or uni-versity. Or, start your

technical education now – in a fieldlike healthcare, early education, business,culinary, law enforcement or more. You’ll beable to finish your college education at Gwin-nett Tech in much less time and move into theworkforce faster.

What is dual enrollment?• An easy, affordable way to start college early

• Take college courses through Gwinnett Tech

• Earn credit toward your high schooldiploma and a college degree

Who is eligible?Juniors and seniors at a Georgia publichigh school or in an accredited homeschool program.

How does it work?Dual enrollment is a collaborative effortbetween the Technical College System ofGeorgia, the Georgia Department of Edu-cation and Georgia’s HOPE Program.Students take one or more courses fromGwinnett Tech using a number of finan-cial aid options including the HOPEGrant or HOPE Scholarship and otherstate programs.

What are my options?There are four different dual enrollmentoptions and our advisors can help deter-mine which is best suited to your edu-cational and career goals. You can:

• Take only core college courses guaran-teed to transfer to Georgia public andprivate colleges (ACCEL Program).

• Take technical education courses incareer-specific fields – like health-care, early education, business andmore (Dual Program).

• Take all your courses at GwinnettTech as a fulltime college student(Move On When Ready).

• Or, if you don’t need additional highschool credits, select any collegecourse and earn only college credit(Joint Program).

Where are the classes taught?• At Gwinnett Tech • Online• At high schools in Gwinnett and North Fulton counties

How much does it cost?• Virtually no tuition costs

• Funded primarily through the HOPEProgram and other sources

• GTC waives any remaining tuition and fees

What are the admission requirements?• No GPA entrance requirement

• Apply with your SAT or ACT scores

• Or, take the COMPASS entrance examat Gwinnett Tech

Will these courses transfer?Approved core college courses are guar-anteed to transfer to any University Systemof Georgia institution and to private col-leges that are members of the GeorgiaIndependent College Association (GICA).Technical courses will transfer to anycollege within the Technical College System of Georgia.

How will dual enrollment affect my futureuse of the HOPE Grant or Scholarship?Dual enrollment coursework does notcount toward your total HOPE hours allotment and is excluded from HOPEGPA calculations.
