DUNKIN’ DONUTS OPENS TO THE PUBLIC IN CALIFORNIA. The fast food chain initiates its goal of expanding to the West Coast.

(November 4, 2014)—California’s first public Dunkin’ Donuts opened on November 4,

2014 in the town Barstow, Calif. at the intersection of I-15 and I-40. The store is open

365 days a year, and its hours of operation are Monday-Thursday, 8am-8pm; Saturday,

7am-8pm; Friday and Sunday, 8am-10pm. It serves a wide variety of donuts, coffee

beverages, breakfast sandwiches, and other baked goods.

This opening initiates Dunkin’ Donuts’ plan to expand to California. 70 stores are set to

open in southern California within the next year. However, the 70 locations set to open in

this area are only a small percentage of the 1000 stores expected to open in the Golden

State. All of these stores will be open to the public.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be coming to California. Expansion to the West Coast has

always been part of our growth plans,” Dunkin’ Donuts CEO Nigel Travis explained.

“We’ve always said that we will enter California when the timing is right and when the

infrastructure is in place to help our franchisees be successful. We believe we have

reached that point today.”
