I am pleased on the release of 1st issue of school E-Newsletter
‘The Excelsior’ for the month of December & January (2018-19). I hope
that it will give you a chance to be a part of the day- to- day school life.
Simultaneously, it will demonstrate the school values at work through
various activities and competitions. It will also update you about our
achievements in every field which are the testaments of the quality
education we provide and the dedication of our wonderful students. I

Excellence Award by Panipat District Administration on Republic Day at
Shivaji Stadium for her commendable contribution to the society .
Road Safety Quiz was organised by
Haryana Police Traffic Department
at Block, District and Range Levels
held at our school. We are proud to
announce that 5,71,880 students of
three District Karnal, Panipat &
Kaithal participated out of which 36
students qualified for Range Level.
Our school team brought laurels to
us by achieving the topmost
positions in all the three levels.
Mime Presentation on Republic Day (29th
January 2019)
Regional Transport Authority, Panipat drew a scene on „Road Safety
Awareness‟ at stadium on the occasion of Republic Day in which a team of 7
students from our school presented a mime that won appreciation from all
& received a cash prize of Rs.500/- per student.

„Show and Tell Activity‟ was
organized for classes Nursery to
II on 3rd
December 2018 aiming
at laying a strong foundation for
students and empowering them to
emerge as confident individual.

An activity „Stationery Hub‟ was
organised on 21st January 2019 for
the students of class 1 to teach
them money management &
communication skills. They were
also given demonstration of
different stationery items.
An English Patriotic Rhyme Competition was organised in Junior wing
on 25th
January for classes Nur. to II. Children recited poems on
patriotism in rhythmic and melodious way using different tricolored
objects. Everyone appreciated and applauded the performance of the
participants and the children enjoyed the event too much.
‘Voters Day‟ was organised by Nilgiri House on 25th
Jan 2019. To mark the
importance of this day, the students presented a beautiful skit & speeches in
Hindi and English to spread awareness about our right to vote.
An activity „Stove at Rest‟
was organised on 30th
January 2019
for classes Nur. to II. The aim of
the activity was to provide platform
to showcase their talent and explore
new areas of interest. The students
prepared healthy dishes and
served then in artistic and creative manner.
An Inter House Science Quiz
Students expressed their emotions and feelings through words and paintings
in the form of beautiful “New Year Cards” for the Soldiers which were sent
to them through “Dainik Jagran”.
An Interview with Indian Forest Service (IFS) Officer
The highlights of an interview with Mr. Jitender Ahlawat, IFS Officer by
the students of Eco Club are:
Student: Sir, would you mind telling us about yourself and your job?
Officer: Sure, My home town is Hisar. I am from defense family
background. I did M.Sc.(Botany) from P.I. (Chandigarh). I was in 2010
batch and took training from NGIS, Dehradun for two years and got 4th
posting in Panipat in 2017 and got 5th
rank in AIR.
Student: Is the rank of an IFS officer equivalent to that of an IAS?
Officer: Yes, According to article 312, Police Service, Administrative
Service and Forest Service are of same rank.
Student: How difficult is the life of an IFS Officer?
Officer: The life of an IFS officer is not much difficult in states like
Haryana as it is a plain area and there is not any issue of animals, forest fire
or that is tribal related.
Student: In which sphere the forest department works?
Officer: The forest department puts more emphasize on various
activities like afforestation, policing, prosecution, protection etc.
Student: What is the best part of your job?
Officer: The best part of our job is to serve people and the nature. I
love the fact that our job is a field job. It‟s my personal interest also to know
more about nature.
Student: What subject combination is required for being an IAS
officer?
Officer: Interest in Geology subject, General knowledge and
knowledge of forest area is required. Above all, the ability of a person and
interest both will be required.
Student: How do you spend your leisure time?
Officer: I do not have much free time. Whenever I get time, I
prefer to play Squash and Cricket.
Student: Who inspired you the most?
Officer: I was highly inspired by my parents.
Student: What‟s your success mantra?
Officer: Aim, concentration and hard work are the key elements to get
success. There is no short cut.
CELEBRATIONS
Inauguration ceremony of Dewan Gajendra Kumar Auditorium was held
on 14th
December 2018 by Shri Dhanajaya Kumar Raina, Honorary
Secretary , Dyal Singh College Society in the presence of Vice Admiral
Satish Soni, Chairman, SMC, DSPS, Panipat ,General Manager of Dyal
Singh College Trust society, Academic Advisors & Principals of our sister
branches.
ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION
Dyal Singh Public School celebrated Christmas
with great fervor and enthusiasm. The nursery wing
wore a festive look with Santa dress. Several
activities were organized like making Santa Claus
with paper, stockings. The boundless joy of
celebrating the festival was visible on the faces of
children when Santa distributed sweets and candies
to them.
Farewell….
A great day filled with nostalgia, fun and
excitement!
The Farewell was organized by the students and teachers of +1 on 29
th
Dec. 2018 in the school auditorium where students of class 11th
bid
farewell to the outgoing students of class 12th
with great enthusiasm. The
students gave scintillating dance performances and the pulsating music
rocked the ambience. Many interesting and tricky games were played to
pep up the environment. The auditorium was set ablaze with a ramp
walk and self introduction by class 12th
students. The judges put various
questions and the students replied to them well. The much awaited
result of the ramp walk and modeling session was announced. Different
titles were awarded to all the students. The title of Mr. Farewell was
won by Sahil Bhatti & Ms. Farewell by Srishti Sharma. Sarthak Bajaj
was adjudged as Mr. Elegant & Mohini Malik as Ms. Elegant.
The Republic Day was celebrated with great zeal & patriotic fervor. The
ceremony began with the hoisting of tri-colour, pride of nation. It was
followed by inspiring speeches & patriotic poems on the significance of
occasion. The program ended with the distribution of sweets.
