ENROLMENT INFORMATION

In order to streamline enrolments, DSA have moved to a new online enrolment system, Dancebiz. Great care and consideration goes into developing the timetable, with particular attention paid to ensuring all students are able to participate in any class for which they are eligible. Having said that, it is impossible to plan for every possibility and we apologise for any instances in which our scheduling proves inconvenient to you or your child/ren. If this occurs, please let us know via our complaints procedure by contacting our business manager, Tim, at [email protected], so that we can address it during one of our regular timetable reviews.

By enrolling your child into DSA, you are agreeing to all Terms and Conditions listed, as well as a commitment to regular attendance to classes and prompt payment of all fees and additional costs. Confirmation of Enrolment requires:

These processes are all completed during your enrolment appointment. An enrolment is not confirmed until done so.

E N R O L M E N T P E R I O D

All enrolments are for a full DSA calendar year over a forty (40) week period. Once a student’s enrolment is finalised, a commitment to pay fees over the agreed period of time is acknowledged. If your enrolment commences later than the term one (1) start date, your enrolment commences from your start date and will cease at the end of the DSA calendar year, typically in December.

F E E S A N D P A Y M E N T S

Fees are charged on an annual basis and are paid over the full year. Each member will receive an invoice for classes that they are enrolled in. This includes class fees and costumes, along with compulsory extras. You're only charged for classes over the forty (40) week enrolment period, ensuring that all contract values are completed by the end of year production. Payment MUST only be made via the third party direct debit company. Payments will be deducted on a weekly basis which will occur Friday of each week. Direct Debits will only be deducted from the authorised account that is listed on the Direct Debit form.

Any fees that are paid upfront, or via direct debit, will not be refunded under any circumstances. If you have concerns regarding your enrolment please contact our enrolments department on 1300 363 207 (ext. 1) or via email at [email protected].

Please note classes will NOT run on major public holidays. Public holiday dates are set at the beginning of the year and are deducted from your fees. All information regarding term dates and public holidays are published on our DSA online Calendar, located on our website and in our fortnightly newsletter, D-NEWS.

D I S C O N T I N U A T I O N & C H A N G E O F C L A S S E S

If at any stage you/your child wishes to cease enrolment, you will be required to submit written notice to [email protected] prior to a new term commencing. NO cancellations or change of classes can be made at administration. The cancellation or change of a class procedure can only take place at the end of terms one and two. Without written notice, payments for a full term of fees will be charged. If classes are booked and the new term has commenced and you have not given notice in writing, a full term of fees will be due and payable.

Please keep this in mind when enrolling your child. Once they are enrolled in a particular class they will be enrolled for a minimum of a full term. No changes can be made to classes during the term and a $25.00 fee will be charged if classes are changed or cancelled at the end of term one or two.

Special Note: No changes or cancellations may be made to you/your child’s classes within the third (3rd) or fourth (4th) term. Classes that are set at the commencement of the third (3rd) term will remain in place for the third (3rd) and the fourth (4th) term. Fees for classes that are booked in the third (3rd) term will continue to be deducted for the remainder of the year, regardless of the classes and production routine/s you/your child decides to participate in, as preparation for the end of year production will have already commenced. Should you/your child/ren decide not to participate in the end of year production there will be no refund offered on production costumes.

If cancellation falls at any time after the commencement of Term Three in the relevant DSA year, you must pay us a cancellation fee of $99.00 on our demand by direct transfer to our nominated bank account.

Y O U R P R I V A C Y

Our relationship with you is based on trust. Information is collected for two reasons: to provide you with the best possible service and to communicate with you regularly. Your information will not be shared with a third party without your consent. Information will be held securely and in accordance with regulatory requirements. Agreement to these Terms and Conditions includes approval for DSA to share your financial information with our preferred direct debit provider only. Under no circumstances should bullying, harassing, offensive comments or defamatory remarks be made about any employees, customers or students, of Dynamite Studios.

No defamatory remarks or opinions are to be made or expressed about Dynamite Studios or its products, services or its business methods.

No defamatory remarks or opinions are to be made or expressed about any party to a litigation in which Dynamite Studios is involved.

The privacy of all employees, customers, and students of Dynamite Studios should be protected with respect to posting photos or videos on social networking sites. Permission should be sought from all people depicted in any photograph that is connected in any way to Dynamite Studios. Without limiting the breadth of that instruction, this applies to photographs of any event sponsored by or promoted by Dynamite Studios.As security can be a concern, no photographs of company premises, either external or internal, should be posted on social media without express approval from Dynamite Studios.

If the above policy is breached an enrolment can be terminated by the discretion of the Artistic Director.

Included as a part of this agreement is a talent release form, authorizing DSA to take and use any photographs, video footage or audio recordings of you/ your child whilst participating in DSA activities. This authorisation includes, but is not limited to, the following uses of you/ your child’s photograph/ film and sound recordings.

1. Inclusion in studio brochure.

2. Inclusion in studio photograph displays.

3. Inclusion in end of year production brochures/videos.

4. Inclusion in media that may be associated with contract work.

5. To be used in presentations for documentation purposes only.

6. Inclusion on social media.

7. Inclusion in promotional activities/campaigns for DSA.

Dynamite Studios Australia takes all reasonable care in the conduct of it’s classes; it accepts no responsibility for injury or loss caused during classes or whilst participants are at or near the dance studio. You are responsible for ensuring that you are physically and medically fit for the class, and during the class you must always take care of your own personal safety.

CAR PARK DROP OFF & PICK UP SYSTEMP A R K I N G

Parents wishing to walk their child/ren to class must park along the street (Dalton Street) and walk into the studio. If you must park in the complex please only use carparks that are labelled 31 or 29. We need to ensure that we are respecting our fellow tenants in our complex. We appreciate your continued support and understanding on this matter. Blue arrows below indicate appropriate parking area.

For anyone who isn’t staying, please make sure that you are sticking to the drop off system that we have in place.

The carpark pick up and drop off system is NOT open to two lanes. For the safety of ALL students, we ask that parents keep to one lane when dropping off and picking up their child/ren. We understand that it can sometimes be a bit of a wait, however, we need to ensure that each student is getting into their car safely. Your co-operation and patience is greatly appreciated.

1. Enter via the first driveway.

2. Drop or collect student/students at the yellow bollards only (passenger side closest to the main studio).

3. Exit via the second driveway.

All parents are to enter through the first driveway stopping at the drop off markers in order to let your children out on the left-hand side of the vehicle. Then continue to exit through the second driveway. NO parent is to park in the drop off zone at any time, as we need to ensure we are courteous to the surrounding businesses. If you need to enter the studio, please park on Dalton Street (front of complex). The drive through drop off system is not a carpark and we need to keep traffic flowing.

If you do come through and your child is not ready for collection yet, please keep driving. We need to avoid vehicles being parked at all times.

For your child/ren’s safety, students are strictly prohibited from waiting in the car park, day or night. We have a student drop off and collection system in place, and we ask that parents adhere to these guidelines, as the safety of each student is very important!

Please ensure that your child/ren are wearing shoes when they exit and enter the premises, as we are part of an industrial estate, and safety is key. No student is permitted to leave the premises without a guardian. Your co-operation in this matter is greatly appreciated. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact Administration.

DSA accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or theft of any property brought onto the premises. Please refrain from bringing valuables unless absolutely necessary, and in such cases, ensure they are packed away safely in the bag racks and not readily visible to others.

W A R M I N G U P

Please be on time for your class, as it is important to warm up properly to avoid injury. No student will be allowed into any class 20 minutes after the class has commenced.

C L A S S P R O T O C O L

All mobile phones are to be switched off prior to commencement of classes. Photography or filming of all or any part of a class with a camera, mobile phone or video camera is prohibited, unless instructed by DSA staff. At no times are parents, guardians and/or family members allowed to watch classes unless during DSA Open Week, which is held in the final week of terms one (1) and two (2). Your co-operation with trainers/staff requests and directions will help to ensure a safe and enjoyable time for all.

Occasionally, trainers are unavailable at short notice. Every endeavour is made to find a suitable substitute trainer.

DSA aims to provide a variety of opportunities for young people to learn to dance, sing and perform. A standard of behaviour, grooming and regular attendance is expected from all students. At DSA, we have a personally designed uniform that we require ALL enrolled students to wear to all classes. All Dynamite Studios Australia uniforms may be purchased in house, via Administration or via the DSA online store:

At DSA, we have a specific standard of attire that must be upheld in all classes at all times. Correct dance footwear, as well as the correct DSA uniform and attire must be worn, and hair must always be up, off the face and neat and tidy.

Students are, at all times, expected to show respect and regard for other students property, feelings and belongings. Unruly or disruptive behaviour and gossip or unkind interaction with other students, parents or trainers will not be tolerated.

END OF YEAR PRODUCTION

Each year Dynamite Studios Australia hosts three end of year Productions at HOTA Gold Coast, in the main arts theatre over two separate days for all enrolled students. One for our Itsy Bitsy Starz/ Ready Set Dance students (2-5 Years), as well as one for our Young Starz students (6-10 Years) and one for our Rising Starz students (11-17 Years).

Events such as the end of year production give all students a wonderful experience, where they can perform all of the skills and talents they have learnt throughout the year.

If your child isn’t able to perform in the end of year production, we ask that you please make this known to staff in your enrolment appointment.

Located on the DSA resource page is a copy of the Production Information Pack. In the Production Information Pack, you will find details on what is required for each student to participate in the end of year production, including information on performance dates, the extra no cost rehearsals, hair and makeup requirements etc., as well as a “How to” purchase tickets and USB’s etc.

P R O D U C T I O N R E H E A R S A L S

Extra rehearsals apply to ALL students participating in the end of year production. There is a lot of extra time and effort put into making these events a big success. However, this requires a real effort & commitment from everyone to ensure that all students attend rehearsals. This will assist in making the events run as smoothly as possible. So please, if parents and students can support this process and attend all extra rehearsals that have been scheduled, it would be greatly appreciated.

Rehearsal dates, times and venues will be published in the DSA newsletter and on the DSA yearly calendar (located on our website). You must take the time to regularly check them. Please take special care that all is understood, and if you are unsure, please ask prior to the rehearsal dates. There is no extra cost involved in the production rehearsals.

P R O D U C T I O N U S B ' S

The end of year production will be filmed by the most professional and experienced dance and performing arts videographer in Queensland, “Mat’s Limelight Multimedia”. Mat has over 19 years’ experience in filming dance eisteddfods and concerts. “Mat’s Limelight Multimedia” is sure to impress.

Your USB copy of the end of year production will be available for purchase via the DSA website www.dsa.com.au.

USB’s will be sold at the cost of $65.00 per USB.

Should you require any assistance, please have no hesitation in contacting Administration. These USB’s are great for memories and keepsakes. All USBʼs are protected and you will not be able to burn them. There will be no orders taken via Administration. All orders must be submitted via the website.

P R O D U C T I O N T I C K E T S

Tickets for the DSA end of year production will go on sale one month prior to the production date. All tickets are an extra cost, all sales are organised directly through HOTA Gold Coast Box Office. Tickets may be purchased a number of different ways.

PHONE: Tickets can be purchased by simply calling HOTA Gold Coast Box office on (07) 5588 4000. With your credit/debit card and production preference ready, the friendly box office staff will be able to take care of your full booking over the phone.

IN PERSON: For the less tech savvy, or for those who like to make sure everything is organised in person, you are able to purchase your tickets by visiting HOTA Box Office in person. We suggest not leaving this until the night of the production.

Dynamite Studios open week invites parents and guardians to sit in on their child/rens lessons and see what they have been up to and the progress they have made throughout the term. Open week is held in the last week of term one and two only, exact dates can be located on the DSA online calendar as well as in our fortnightly newsletter D-NEWS.

OPEN WEEK

Each year Dynamite Studios Academy’s High School and Full-Time students get the opportunity to travel to Sydney to perform and take part in workshops at Australian Dance Festival (ADF). ADF is a celebration of Australia’s best in dance. Workshops are held with Australia’s most sought after choreographers, as well as performances, dance competitions and an expo of dance products and services all jam packed into one amazing weekend. If you are not a part of Dynamite Studios Academy, expression of interest for ADF is to be sent through to DSA each November for the following year. All students wishing to be a part of the showcase and competition pieces must audition. There are extra costs involved for flights, accommodation, passes and costumes. All students who are selected must be available to attend all rehearsals and workshops.

AUSTRALIAN DANCE FESTIVAL

ONLINE: For those of you who have a little less time on your hands, online tickets sales are also available for purchase online by visiting https://hota.com.au. Credit/debit card payments only. All ticket prices include a full production program. Tickets will sell fast, as in previous years they have SOLD OUT! Please get in early to avoid disappointment.

C O S T U M E S

COSTUME PAYMENT: All costumes for the DSA end of year production are included in your annual fees. This allows you to pay off the costumes throughout the year, without having that not so loved costume bill around Christmas time.

COSTUME FITTING: All students will be measured during class time in the beginning of term three (3). No student is to miss classes during this time. No measurement, no costume. Exact fitting dates will be published in D-NEWS and on our yearly calendar.

COSTUME COLLECTION: Costumes will be given out during class time once they have been completed. Parents will receive a notification from DSA outlining which costume is being sent home, so that you are able to ensure everything makes it home safely.

PERFORMANCE TEAMDynamite Studios Australia’s performance team is a group of young performers aspiring to be the best they can be. Students are dedicated to their studies and train numerous times a week.

Performance team participates in various dance competitions/eisteddfods, corporate events and charity events. This program is developed for students who wish to live and breathe dance and all other facets of the performing arts. Each performance builds confidence, performance skills, stage presence and a determination to succeed. Performance team members gain immediate entry into Dynamite Studios Agency and are exposed to auditions and professional, paid work opportunities. Performance team is a special training program and requires a full year commitment. Performance team is an invitation only group for students who demonstrate a high level of commitment, skill and dedication to their dance studies.

C O M M I T M E N T

Performance Team students are required to attend all enrolled classes, including both performance and general classes. Students are expected to show 100% attendance and commitment in all classes. Any student that misses three or more lessons without a valid reason will run the risk of being placed out of whole routines or sections of routines. DSA ask that you please inform Administration of any dates that your child and/or children may be absent as soon as possible so that we are able to inform our trainers. Please make special note that your fees will continue to be deducted regardless of your childs attendance and commitment to their classes.

C O M P E T I T I O N F E E S

DSA competition fees are a one-off fee charged to all performance group families. The competition fees will be included in your weekly direct debit payment, and will cover the cost of routine entry fees, competitor passes for all competitions throughout the year and covers any extra rehearsal fees.

U N I F O R M S

All performance team students are required to wear the full DSA performance team uniform. This includes black DSA performance team tights (girls only), black skinny jeans or DSA Shorts (boys only), black DSA long sleeve tee and black DSA Performance Team jacket. Students must wear black/white enclosed shoes. DSA tracksuits are ordered at the beginning of each year. Tracksuits are not included in your annual fees, and will need to be purchased via the DSA online store. DSA merchandise can be purchased from administration.

C O S T U M E S

Each student will receive one costume per routine for the competition season. The cost of these costumes are an added extra that will be included in your annual fees. Students will be fitted for their costumes during “performance team costume fitting week”, typically held within the first week of term one. The dates of costume fitting week will be published in D-NEWS (our fortnightly newsletter) and can also be located on the DSA online calendar.

VOCAL STREAMDynamite Studios Australia Vocal Stream is a unique program providing opportunities to students who have a passion for singing and want to work towards a Performing Arts Career.

In lessons, students work not only on their vocal abilities, but also aspects such as acting, expression, projection, movement and confidence. No matter what level students are at, DSA’s vocal trainers educate and mentor their pupils to work to the best of their ability, through private lessons, public performances, competitions, concerts and recording opportunities.

R E C O R D I N G

All DSA Vocal stream students are given the opportunity to build a portfolio by professionally recording their tracks in a state of the art recording studio.

P U B L I C P E R F O R M A N C E S

Each performance builds confidence, performance skills, stage presence and a determination to succeed. Vocal students will be open to performing at corporate and charity events throughout the Gold Coast and Brisbane area. Students will also gain immediate entry into Dynamite Studios Agency and are exposed to auditions and professional, paid and un-paid work opportunities.

Vocal stream students are invited to be a part of DSA vocal performance team. DSA’s performance team is a group of young performers aspiring to be the best they can be. Students will compete solo at Gold Coast Eisteddfod in August, and are always encouraged to enter as many competitions as they wish throughout the year.

Entry into our vocal performance team is by invitation only. Students accepted into the performance team are students who demonstrate a high level of commitment, skill and dedication to their vocal studies.

Each year DSA host cabaret evenings for all vocal stream students to be able to showcase their talent and the progress they have been making within the private lessons. Our cabaret evenings give students the opportunity to get up on stage and perform to a live audience, as well as work behind the scenes with technical staff.

To ensure that Dynamite Studios Australia is able to provide and maintain the high standard of training that we pride ourselves on we have put in place guidelines that we expect all families to adhere to.

Please ensure that you wholly understand and agree with the information that is provided in this handbook. The information outlined below, and in the Dynamite Studios Australia terms and conditions for private tuition can and will be used in the event of a dispute.

P A Y M E N T

All private tuition (weekly/fortnightly lessons) will now be paid via direct debit on a weekly basis, you will receive an invoice via email outlining your private tuition cost for the upcoming term and payment will be deducted each Friday. Your payments will be withdrawn one week in advance. Default payments may result in your lesson/s being cancelled for the remainder of the term, weekly payments must be up to date at all times. No cancellations can be made unless admin is informed prior to invoicing for the following term.

Payment for choreography blocks will still be required to be paid in full, in cash directly to administration on the day of the schedule block, prior to the lesson commencing. If payment is not made prior to the lesson, the lesson will not go ahead.

B O O K I N G S

To make a booking for a solo, duo or trio you must visit our online booking system. This can be located on the DSA website via the private tuition button. From there you will need to complete the online booking form and have it submitted to administration for approval (by the Artistic Director). Once your booking is approved, you will receive an automated email confirming your lesson times.

PRIVATE TUITION

CIRCUS ARTSCircus Arts is a modern art form that incorporates the use of hanging equipment, DSA utilizes silks, lyra and trapeze. Aerial increases versatility in circus acrobatics and dance, and uses high-flying acrobatics feats to amaze audiences. DSA’s Circus stream invites students to extend their skills in regular classes and perform in annual showcases.

• Each day starts at 9:30am with Registration. • Students are divided into three groups (Junior, Intermediate & Senior). • Workshops will commence daily at 10:00am. • Each class is 1.5 hours in length and there are three classes per day. • Students will break for lunch from 1:00pm – 1:30pm. • Final workshop for the day will end at 3:00pm.

RAD CLASSICAL BALLETEXAMINATIONS

Each year, students are invited to take part in yearly RAD classical ballet examinations.

Examination results in previous years have been excellent in all levels, and are a true reflection of the time, commitment and dedication of students and parents, As well as the preparation the studio offers in the exam process.

Please note: There are extra costs involved in sitting the RAD classical ballet examinations which must be paid in May prior to submission. As well as compulsory extra examination workshops held

in the July school holidays and set attire that will cost extra. Regular attendance to exam classes are compulsory. To achieve the maximum results, students are advised that any more than a total of three classes missed may compromise their achievements. Any student that exceeds the recommended leave will need to apply for special consideration and book private tuition lessons to stay up to date with the exam work.

H O W D O I P A Y F O R M Y F E E S ?

Fees are charged on an annual basis and are paid over the full year. Each member will receive an invoice for classes that they are enrolled in. This includes class fees and costumes, along with compulsory extras. You're only charged for classes over the forty (40) week enrolment period, ensuring that all contract values are completed by the end of year production. Payment MUST only be made via the third party direct debit company. Payments will be deducted on a weekly basis which will occur Friday of each week. Direct Debits will only be deducted from the authorised account that is listed on the Direct Debit form.

Any fees that are paid upfront, or via direct debit, will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Footwear must be purchased from one of our local dance retailers. We suggest Tinkerbell's Gift and Dance, Oxenford or Dance Desire, Ashmore.

If at any stage you/your child wishes to make changes to the enrolment, you will be required to submit written notice to [email protected]. NO cancellations or change of class can be made at administration. The Cancellation or Change of a class can only take place during terms one and two, without written notice payments for a full term of fees will be charged. If classes are booked and the new term has commenced and you have not given notice, a full term of fees will be due and payable.

Please keep this in mind when enrolling your child. Once they are enrolled in a particular class they will be enrolled for a minimum of a full term.

SPECIAL NOTE: No changes or cancellations may be made to you/your child’s classes within the third (3rd) term. Classes that are set at the commencement of the third (3rd) term will remain in place for the third (3rd) and the fourth (4th) term. Fees for classes that are booked in the third (3rd) term will continue to be deducted for the remainder of the year, regardless of the classes and production routine/s you/your child decides to participate in, as preparation for the end of year production will have already commenced. Should you / your child/ren decide not to patriciate in the end of year production there will be no refund offered on production costumes.

If your child wishes to sit their RAD classical ballet exams they MUST enroll into two ballet classes per week. This is for grades 1 and above.

Children wishing to sit the Trinity College London Musical Theatre & Vocal Examinations will discuss the requirements with their vocal trainers in their private lessons.Any student wishing to sit examinations will need to email [email protected].
