2E Commerce Buzz Retail: 65 million unique users per month and
24% of all retail users reach apparel. Apparel is the fastest growing sub category
while travel still remains the top. Every 3rd shopping search on google is fashion
related. Apparel industry will eventually be USD 40 Bn
industry by 2018.

3Apparel Online: Boon or challenge?
You give 10% off at physical store: people will form a queue.
10-15% off at online store: you will loose your minimum traffic.
30-40% commission to ecommerce portals: not a sustainable price point for retailers.
Touch and feel perception, still a problem, an area for some innovation.
Paid advertising is too expensive for small players and new entrants.

Indian “Jugaad” Fashion bloggers, Facebook pages, WhatsApp,
Pinterest, Snapchat as alternative channels. My client in Vijayawada/Vizag sells 1 Cr INR
apparel every month, ships 40 lakh INR apparel to Canada alone via WhatsApp orders.
Opportunity: Payment channel innovations, organizing and tracking orders, potential for large scale platform- a common online space for all apparel merchants, solution to return policy problems.

5Technology Common sense:
Try to tweak around with what you have :1. Non English text in facebook Ad Banners gets
detected slowly than English text (FB wont allow too much text in Print Ad Banner). It worked for us couple of times saving 1200 USD.
2. We know the basics right and we don’t feel good about some one paying 60,000 INR to learn Digital Marketing.
